Chapter 5 - Focus

In the restaurant

"Wasn't it Amber just now? And with who? Jason Willow!" the young girl she had an appointment with questioned her. Talia didn't like the idea of Amber being happy, she wouldn't let that happen.

She hid her head so that Amber wouldn't notice her. But she made sure to make Amber take a glimpse of her so that she could torture her mentally. She didn't want to create a scene there so she retreated.

Talia hated Amber to the core. And was even willing to sell her soul to the Devil, only for her to be able to destroy that bitch. She thought that she already broke her down but it seems as if the Heavens were always there with her.

Talia promised herself not to lose in front of her again. She was certain to win because she was going to make new allies and powerful ones.

She smirked at the thought of it and went to her reserved table. She always paid great attention to her appearance as she always kept a low profile.

She noticed lustful stares from men as she strolled to her table. Not that she liked it but at least it made her feel pretty. They sat down and ordered a cup of coffee and tea.

She took tea because she didn't want to damage her health with coffee and also because tea reminded her of her deceased mother.

"Miss Groove, aren't you curious about why she was with Mr Jason? You know very well how Jason Willow is. And do you think she is his new toy?" Miss Hartley asked curiously.

"Miss Hartley, I shall take the pleasure of remembering you that our main purpose of coming here is business and not some gossip. And I don't care what there is between them. So, may we start?" Talia stated with a calm and professional tone while sipping her tea.

She disliked nosy people and gossipmongers. She stared at the woman and anticipated her outburst but to her surprise, she went directly to the point as if nothing happened before "Miss Groove, these are the documents that need your signature. And, we shall send all the necessary pieces of equipment in 3 weeks. We are feeling honored to be able to be your suppliants. And we are looking forward to a peaceful and successful collaboration." She then finished her coffee and left Talia sitting alone at their table.

Talia continued sipping her tea when she heard naughty whispers from some of the women present in the restaurant. She raised her head and saw a young handsome man strolling towards her table and then he asked her if the seat in front of her was free.

'If he thinks he can flirt with me, then it will be like trying to advise someone in love. It is just impossible.' she thought smiling inwardly.

She nodded her head with a straight face and motioned for him to sit down. He sat down and smiled at her sweetly. When he was about to start a conversation with her, the waiter came to take his order.

He decided to take a cup of sour cappuccino. While drinking, he looked at her and tried to capture her appearance.

Her brown hair perfectly cut into a bob, rested on her stainless yellow elbow-length sleeve office shirt. Her height is displayed with the help of her long peach skirt.

He loved her long eyelashes and her rosy lips that matched his peach ones. She then stood up to go because she had nothing more to do there and not to say being stared at like she was a piece of art.

She already finished her tea and needed to head back to the office for she had unfinished work.

He held her hand so as to stop her from leaving. She was glaring at him while he took a card from his pocket with his free hands. "This is my business card. Please, accept it and call me when you are free," he stated and then freed her hand.

Talia stared at the business card and read the name 'Asher Walker' written in bold at the top.

She will surely contact him back in the future. She will use this opportunity to enlarge their business. She very well knew he was one of the hottest, youngest, and most powerful CEO in the world. She got excited and decided to heed* him.

She took her own business card from her handbag and handed it over to him. "I give it to you so that you can contact me for BUSINESS ONLY,'' she made sure to make herself clear about it.

She knew that the only things men know are alcohol, work, and women. She already had much on her mind and didn't want to add more stress to herself.

Asher smirked and took her card, then stood up too. She went towards the exit and he followed behind. Outside of the restaurant, he decided to use the popular trick of riding the lady in distress back home.

But while approaching her, to his dismay he saw her entering into a light blue prado. He saw her starting the car and riding it like a professional.

He admired her strong personality and determination. He thought of courting her like the gentleman he was.

Asher smiled and got into his yellow Mercedes and drove to the office. He didn't plan to take another day off because he needed to finalize all the pending work, so that he may have enough time to court his baby.

While being lost in his thoughts and driving at the same time, another car followed behind. He disliked being seen with so many bodyguards so they always stayed in a different car following his.

At the hospital

Talia got down at the parking lot situated in the basement and went directly to the lift. She went to her office on the top floor, the 20th one.

She went to the Human Resources sector in order to leave the signed contracts. She didn't have a secretary and didn't need one. She was better off by herself.

She then entered her office and continued the pending work. She signed some documents and verified some that needed to be signed by the Director.

She was soo unlucky to have her dear elder brother as the director of the hospital and enemy as one of the best doctors of the hospital.

She sighed at the thought of it. Her brother made her in charge of all the contracts either official, financial, or confidential. While Amber gave her a headache. She went to her brother's office and slowly pushed the door open.

She went in and frowned when she saw the dark circles under his eyes, his scattered hairstyle, and his dry pale lips, accompanied by the dull look in his eyes but he still managed to give her a sweet smile.

Even though he annoyed her most of the time, she still loved him very much. He dotes on her and takes good care of her. He was the epitome of the best brother.

She hated seeing him like that. She wanted to do something to help him to reduce his workload. That was her main goal for working there, to make him proud.

She went and cleared his table of all those papers. She combed his hair using her hands. She then dragged him out of his office as it was already late.

She thought it was time for her to employ a secretary so that her loving brother wouldn't be that tired again. He didn't have one because he disliked secretaries as they were the main cause of their mother's death. For him all of them were sluts.

They arrived home and went directly to sleep. She thought of helping her brother first before dealing with Amber.

She will make her regret all that she did to her in the past. Her determination on exterminating Amber is so great that she was sure of winning.

But again she must focus on her brother's happiness first. Like the great sister she was, she will ensure his well-being all the time at any cost.
