When Amber got down the stairs, she saw a familiar figure talking with her father in the dining hall. She smiled and walked towards the table.
She went forward to hug her father as a greeting while wishing him a 'Good morning'. She then when to her now-standing friend and hugged her tightly.
She sat down and noticed her friend taking her plate in order to serve her as they say next to each other. Amy was always a sweet and caring girl.
Amber stared at her friend and couldn't be more glad to have found such a person she could blindly trust.
They had many things to discuss, and that's why Amber wanted them to meet at the coffee shop. But still, she was not surprised that Amy came to their house directly in the morning, because she used to do it before.
"Amy, let me explain to you while we are heading out. See, let us go to the mall first in order to do some shopping. And after that, we can go to the coffee shop. Okay?" she suggested while starting to eat.
Amy thought for a while, before accepting as it would not be convenient for them to discuss some matters at home, in the presence of the maids and the butler, and most importantly Mr Hamilton.
Then she proceeded with her food. Noticing that Amber had long stopped eating, Amy snapped her fingers in front of her friend in order to break her from her daze, which ended up startling her.
Amber was slightly irritated with what her friend did. Even though she didn't expect her thoughts to drift to Jason, she somehow felt happy inside with him clouding her mind.
She tried to hide her annoyance from Amy because she knew that her friend will irritate her more with her usual questions.
Her questions were the type that none could escape or avoid. It catches you red-handed. She usually wondered why her friend chose to be a model instead of a lawyer or detective. And the better part is that her main course was science in high school.
On their way to the mall, Amber decided to check her messages. And when she did, she got disappointed by the outcome.
She saw no unread messages or missed calls from Jason. All of them were from either the hospital or the bank. She sighed and closed her phone while leaning back in her seat.
Amy did not miss the reaction made by her friend and then suspected that her friend was hiding something from her. She thought of asking her but knew better.
Her friend will turn her around just like riding a bicycle in a 360° full circle. She knew how and when. She was going to the answers she is looking for.
Then Amy heard the message notification sound and unlocked her phone. Amber turned her head as she got the sound too. She rolled her eyes at the sight of her friend replying to her beloved husband. She saw her replying to his messages with so much PDA
Honey: Have u reached the mall already? Text me when u reach. And when u're done text me so that I can come pick u up.
Amy: I love the way u care 'bout me, honey. I'm gonna text u when I'll finish my outing with Amber.
Honey: Okay! Take care, baby. Miss you.
Amy: Miss u too, my sweet honey. Have a nice day and don't stress too much at work. Fire anybody who dares to annoy u. Okay?
Honey: Okay. I'll do as u said. Remember to eat well. And as I promised earlier, I won't forget to have my lunch. Love u.
Amy: Love u too.
"Did you have to be this cheesy?" Amber stated with clear annoyance which made Amy get angry. "Miss Amber Hamilton, how many times should I make myself clear? It's called love. Okay?" Amy corrected.
"Love my ass! What a weird couple." Amber muttered her last sentence so as to not infuriate her friend more.
But to her dismay, Amy heard every part of her speech without even missing a letter. Amber knew her friend heard her when she noticed the change in expression on Amy's face.
Amy frowned at her while shaking her head in disappointment. Amber sighed and went to hug her friend as a way for her to apologize to her friend.
After a long thought, Amy finally returned the hug. She hated being angry with her and that was the same for Amber. And not too long after, they reached their destination. They got down and went into the mall. Amy wanted them to shop till they drop.
They made their way in and gained people's attention towards them. They were not surprised because they knew that the stares came from the attires they had.
They wore twin shorts and T-shirts. And even twin caps with French braids under each. In addition, both of them covered their faces with facemasks so as not to be recognized.
They didn't like the idea of being 'Hot search' on the internet. They went on with their shopping. Amber and Amy decided to buy casual dresses, sports outfits, working attires, outings, and many more. While buying, Amber disclosed all. what happened the day before to her friend.
And this one only gave her a few pieces of advice as she was already a married woman. After that, they further went to buy make-up. As for lipsticks, Amber chose more peach-like and light colors while Amy chose reddish and neutral colors.
They bought many other items like perfumes, handbags, and clutches. Then they went to the small cafe in the mall. While eating some pastries, they noticed 3 young women walking toward them.
Judging by their attires and their walking way, one could guess they were from the high-class society.
When they arrived in front of their table, one of them put on a fake surprised face and announced "Oh my! Is it, not the popular model, Amy Jefferson, and the recommended young doctor, Amber Hamilton?"
And just like that, all the attention in the coffee was given to them. Even though Amber was just starting her career, she made a huge and solid fan base when the mother of the child she cured with a chronic disease made an interview.
The majority of the people in there now had their phones and started filming the whole scenario. The best friends finally had what they were trying to escape.
The same girl who seemed to be the group leader and the richest said "Long time no see. Amy, I heard that you secretly got married. Is your husband poor or maybe he's rich but old or ugly, and that's why you are hiding him? And you Amber, someone whistled in my ears that you got engaged. Who's him or you don't even know who you are gonna marry? What a joke!"
They sighed in unison and the annoyance on their faces was soo clear that one could swear that if they weren't being polite, they would have slapped that girl right there in front of many people filming. "Stella, tell us clearly what you want from us and leave."
Amy could not take it anymore so she went ahead to speak first before her friend would do something she will regret in the future. Amber was a sweet and loving girl in everyone's eyes but only Amy knew her true nature.
"Oh! Don't be that harsh towards me, Amy. We are colleagues after all. Let's go back to business, I saw you here so I decided to come to you in advance." Stella stated. "What do you mean." this time Amber spoke as it seemed as if she had planned to visit them after.
"What I mean is, I am having my engagement ceremony at the end of the month. So, Father asked me to invite you guys. And Amy don't forget to bring your husband and the same goes for you, Amber. Bye." Stella said arrogantly and left with her friends.
After they finished eating, they decided to head out as Amy had already messaged her husband and he said that he was at the main entrance. At some distance away from the main entrance, they saw a tall, firm, and beautiful figure leaning on a purple Mercedes.
When he got sight of them he winked at his wife and she blushed. Amber just shook her head as she couldn't believe she would be stuck in a car with these lovesick birds. She went directly to the car and got in the passenger seat while Amy and Oliver got in the back seat.
The driver carried their shopping bags to the car and kept them. Then he went forward in driving them back home.
