Alexander made sure Lucas had left with the beaten soldiers before barging into his so-called brother's chambers. He pushed open the door with great force, and as expected, his brother was standing, as if eagerly waiting for him to open that door. He had that evil smile on his face as he stared at Alexander.
Alexander simply stared back, patiently waiting for him to say something. Earlier, he had planned to choke out the truth from him and then kill him, but it wasn't an option either. Beowulf was also someone very powerful and it would be hard to make him say the truth, also killing him was way too easy. He deserved a more painful death.
"Brother! You're here! You took longer than expected, I had thought you'd be here earlier than this." Beowulf commented but Alexander remained calm, though he was brewing in anger, he didn't show it, he was waiting for the perfect time to attack.
Beowulf noticed Alexander was quiet and it puzzled him. 'When did he become this gentle? Seems his wife had great effect on him!'
"Well, I definitely don't want to keep my brother waiting, so I'd like to ask. What's with this rare visit? Are you perhaps miss-"
His words were cutoff short because Alexander had already landed him a punch on his jaw. He was trying his possible best to control himself but his annoying voice wouldn't stop ringing in his ears and he ended up punching him.
"Your voice...it irritates me." Alexander said and Beowulf chuckled. He wiped the blood from his mouth and glared at Alexander with disdain. The playful air around him was gone and was replaced with bloodlust.
"For the last time....where is my wife?" Alexander asked and Beowulf, again, chuckled.
"Why ask me? I don't know..." He shrugged and Alexander clenched his fists.
"Where is my wife Beowulf!? Don't tell me and your entire existence would be gone!" He threatened.
"Then what? Would that make you find your wife? Wait, when did you start caring about other people? As far as I can remember, two months ago, you were cold and heartless. What changed?" Beowulf asked in a mocking tone.
Ignoring his remark, Alexander spoke again. This time in a more deadly tone. "I'm giving you one minute, bring my wife back or you die?"
"It's not as if you can kill me!"
His remark was followed with a hard punch that sent him flying in the other side of the room. Sounds of vases and glass were heard. The soldiers who were in hiding incase something were to happen began to panic, but as per their crown prince's instructions, they stood still. Beowulf had instructed them all not to get in, no matter what they hear and they all nodded in compliance with his instructions.
Beowulf stood up, pieces of shattered glasses were stuck on his face but he didn't have the luxury to feel any pain. All that was in his mind was to kill this man standing before him. 'Once I'm done with you. I'll cut out your intestines and feed them to the bulls and after that your wife's going to be next. No, I'll simply make her my queen when I become king. Something you wouldn't be able to do for her?' He commented in his head.
"I warned you!" Alexander said before giving him another punch on the abdomen. Beowulf stepped back but he didn't fall. This time he wasn't caught off guard. He was fully prepared and ready to fight till death. He wasn't going to let this opportunity slip away!
They began to charge against each other, no one was willing to blink for fear that the opponent might disappear. Alexander pulled out his sword and pierced it through Beowulf's abdomen but he didn't even wince in pain. 'As expected, why am I not surprised?' Beowulf commented in his head. An evil smile carved on his face which Alexander didn't fail to notice.
"You think killing me would bring back your wife? I had instructed my men not to touch a strand of her hair because she'll be mine once you're gone...." He said and for some reason, Alexander began to boil in anger. His rage was reaching it's limits and it looked like he couldn't control it any longer.
"And I had also instructed them that if by chance anything happens to me, they should kill her immediately. Well, why not?! It's no use if she's alive." Beowulf said and Alexander's eyes showed some strange emotions in them. He's right! He needed to calm down else his actions might put his wife in danger. He can't lose her!! She's he's responsibility and he needed to take care of her. Again, he ended up failing! He couldn't protect her and now she's captured.
While Alexander was deep in thoughts and had let his guard down. A wicked smirk painted on Beowulf's face. 'So she can actually make you lose focus in the middle of a fight?!! What the hell did this woman do to you?!'
With the wicked smirk still painted on his face he pulled out his sword and stabbed Alexander. He snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Beowulf with rage in his eyes.
...
Lucas had returned to his quarters and had instructed some guards to take care of the torturing. He would have done it himself but there are still important matters to handle. Like, his prince and Robert and Amadeus' disappearance.
He marched towards Finn and Lago's areas. They noticed him coming towards them, without the prince and they furrowed their brows. This guy, isn't he supposed to be with the prince? What's he doing here?!!
Lucas saw their creased brows and he couldn't help but sigh inwardly. 'This is going to be a tough one!'
"Lucas!" Finn was the one who called out.
"I'm right he -"
"Why did you leave his highness? You had a task and you were supposed to carry it out well!" Finn nagged.
"At least, listen to me first." Lucas countered.
"What is it?!" Finn asked angrily
"His Highness took some soldiers captive, he has asked me to take them to our quarters to give them torture. I'm sure he didn't want me to be there. I objected to it but he still made me go back." He explained.
"I have a bad feeling about this. Beowulf is up to no good. We need Bruce and Robert! Where exactly are they?!" Lucas countered.
"We have no idea too but we can't wait for them. We have to help his highness." Lago said and they both nodded.
"Lucas, Lago. Stay behind. I'll go check on his highness." Finn explained and they were both hesitant.
"His highness needs us all here, we can't let him fight all alone." Lucas said.
"I know that, but you both have to stay here incase something happens." Finn explained his reason for going alone and they hesitantly nodded.
"We understand. Take care and no matter what, don't allow his highness to get much more angry than he already is. You know what he's like when he's angry and that wouldn't be a good thing." Lucas said, sincerely worried for his prince.
"Understood captain!" Finn teased and Lucas gave him a glare.
"Just go already! I'll go look for the princess within the castle." Lucas said and gave Lago a meaningful gaze.
"Make sure to inform the rest of the soldiers. I've stationed a few of them close to the borders leading outside Lucrain. No one would be able to leave without them noticing." Finn explained.
"Got it." Lago said and Finn departed.
They patrolled the area checking for any anomalies. Everything was clear and they could finally breath for a moment.
"I'm worried." Lucas spoke, breaking the silence.
"Why?" Lago asked.
"His Highness....there's something strange going on with him."
"I have also noticed it, but what do you think it is?"
"Not sure but all I know, we need to keep an eye on him as instructed by Bruce." Lucas spoke and Lago nodded in agreement. There was silence and they could sight the soldiers ordered to stay by the border approaching them. Lucas and Lago both creased their brows. 'Why are they returning? The princess's life is at stake here!!'
Lucas stepped forward, the rage in his eyes was evident that he didn't look like the Lucas anyone knew. Even Lago was shocked with the change. 'Hmm! Another side I haven't seen from this kid.' Lago commented in his head and stepped forward to calm him down because he looked like he was ready to kill.
