Chereads / MARRIED TO A DEMON LORD / Chapter 67 - Sapphire meerat

Chapter 67 - Sapphire meerat

"Father no!! I have to go! I have to help him!" Ellie screamed as the tears from her eyes wouldn't stop falling.

"Ellie, listen to me. They had searched everywhere but they couldn't find it. There's nothing we can do anymore." Lucid calmly explained to his daughter.

"Father, we can't let him die. He has been unconscious for more than two weeks now and if we don't do anything to help him, he's going to...to...." She paused as she couldn't complete her sentence. Her tears wouldn't stop falling. Everything was her fault! She was at fault!

"Please father, I can't let him die. I have to look for a way." She said, and this time her voice was barely a whisper.

"Ellie, listen to your father. There's no other way out if we don't find that plant. It's a very rare plant and would always be hard to find. He's going to die if we do -" Titus said as his words were cut short.

"No!!! He's not going to die! What kind of a father are you? Are you simply giving up on your son?! Would you really let him die? Had his mother been here, do you think she would have given up this easily?!.... listen and listen carefully, I'm sorry but I'm going to have to disrespect the King. I'm leaving to find a cure for him. That so called plant can't be the only solution." She said and stood up to leave but Emilia held her down.

"Ellie please don't. That plant is the only cure and there is no other cure. Please listen to your father and don't be stubborn. We can't help him and we're sorry for letting you down. We're sorry...." Emilia said and broke down in tears. It pained her to see her daughter go through much pain. Her first daughter had enough problems and now, she??...

Seeing her mother crying, Ellie seemed to have come back to her consciousness. They were right, there's nothing to be done if they don't find that plant. All this is her fault, shouldn't she be the one fixing them? Why can't they just let her be and find this plant. But what was this plant that was the only only cure? She still didn't get to know the name!

She turned to her father with a lowered gaze. Her voice was low and then she spoke. "Father?"

"Mhm!"

"What's the name of this plant?" She asked and Lucid sighed.

"Sapphire meerat." Lucid said and Ellie's tears grew even stronger. She knew this plant, it was one of the rarest plant. Some people considered it extinct. It was known for its divine healing for any sickness. Many had tried looking for this plant but they never found it. Few got lucky and they got to use it.

If that was the only plant to cure Amir then there was no hope left. Everything would just be a waste. If only she had just one leaf of that plant. Just one leaf...

Still thinking about the pros and cons, a realization dawned on her and she felt like screaming out loud. Sapphire meerat! T-that plant. Her late mother!! Ahh! How could she forget?!

"I know where to get that plant." She finally said and all head snapped towards her. Hope filled their eyes.

"Where?" Titus asked, the hope that filled his eyes was more than anyone else's. She knew that if Amir manages to survive this, he would never want to speak with her anymore. Titus wouldn't even let him, what was she thinking? She hurt his son, she can't expect him to forget it so easily.

"My father's home." She declared and everyone's eyes gleamed with curiosity. How did her late father get the plant even when it wasn't in the forest?

"Then we should get it fast!" Lucid said and Ellie nodded, but then her eyes seemed to sadden a little. She didn't know if they would let her in. Ever since her parents died. Their kin took over the properties and left her with nothing. She didn't know if they would let her in if she said she needed something. She knew them very much and she could bet on her life that they wouldn't give in without aggression.

Lucid noticed that her countenance seemed to have changed a bit and he asked. "Is there anything wrong?"

"Yes." She answered truthfully.

"I don't know if they'll let me in knowing I need to get something. Those people are cruel and they wouldn't even budge if I told them someone is dying." She explained and for some reason, Lucid felt anger. Not towards his daughter but to those people whom Ellie called family. How torturous must her life been that she was even scared of them knowing the fact that she's a princess and could do anything she wanted with them. She's too young to experience all of this and it made Lucid want to use his sword. The best punishment for those scoundrels was to put them in the dungeon. How dare they treat his daughter like she's a nobody?! He would admit that they actually didn't know each other before Elen had brought her but it still angered him. She's a princess now and she shouldn't be scared of anything.

"You have nothing to worry about. You're a princess of this kingdom. They wouldn't dare defy your orders unless they wish to die." Lucid said and paused.

"Or do you want me to give them the most painful torture. It's going to be far worse than death. It would equal the things they've done to y -"

"No! There's no need to kill them." She said and Lucid smirked. 'as expected of her. She's still young and can't even kill, she just grew much more than her age would've. Well, it's a good thing.' He commented in his head.

"I won't." He assured her and she sighed.

"I should get going. I'll have some guards, no, soldiers with me so you don't have to worry about a thing." She said and Lucid nodded in approval.

She hastily left with the soldiers trailing behind her, Cyrus was among them and Lucid knew he had nothing to worry about.

She left the palace with new found determination in her eyes. Everything is going to be fine. 'Amir please hang on a bit. You'll be fine!' She commented in her head.

....

Hallo. Sapphire meerat. It's a blue plant, specifically a leaf chosen from my imagination. It's just for fiction purpose and it's not real. It's just something my imagination came up with. *grins wide*
