"H-h-he still hasn't gotten over his past. But I'll help him, even if it's going to take a lifetime. I'll stand by his side." She said and Linda and Gwen's heart bloomed with joy. Gosh! Their sister-in-law is just too kind for their brother! She was just a rare specie.
"Don't worry. Brother will slowly get over his past, with you by his side." Linda commented.
"Did he tell you everything?" Gwen said and Elen shook her head. Huh? He didn't tell you? How the hell do you know?!
"He wasn't planning on telling me. It was actually a mistake but I'm glad I know a tiny bit of it." She said.
"What do you know?" Gwen asked again. She was just the type who wouldn't keep shut no matter how severe the situation was. Her curiosity would always get the better of her. Linda was already glaring daggers at her with the words flashed across her eyes. 'Do you have to know everything?'
'What? Don't expect me to keep shut. You know me by now so this isn't something new and sis-in-law isn't complaining!' She commented in her head.
"Nothing much. I only know he has a past love. Bianca, who he hasn't gotten over yet." She said and they nodded.
Sigh....we wish you knew everything about his past.
The food was cold already so the maids had already left with it.
"We're sorry we didn't let you enjoy your meal." She said as she glared at Gwen.
"It's alright. I enjoyed your company so you don't have to apologize." Elen said.
"So I guess my company wasn't enjoyed. I'll just leave then." Gwen pouted like a child.
"No, no. I meant the both of you, so no need to feel sad okay?"
"I was already sad though. Haha just kidding."
"Alright. You both are special and important people in my life now, so don't feel sad or anything." Elen said.
"Yeah we know and we'll continue to support anything you do." Gwen said.
"And oh, if at all you need seduction tips. I have lots of books with that content." Linda said with a wink and Elen almost choked.
S-s-seduction tips?! I don't need them. Wait, why would I need something like that? Oh goodness! My sis-in-law is shameless, isn't she?!
"N-n-no. I don't need them. Why would I need books to seduce my husband?" Elen said, blurting out anything that came out of her mouth. Her face had already turned red from all of the blushing. Not that her and Alexander hasn't done intimate things. It's just her. She had not seduced him once, even if he kept on telling her she did.
"I understand. You might not need it now but trust me, you'll need it in the future and when that time comes, you'll come running to this sis-in-law, and I'll gladly embrace you." Linda said and they all chuckled.
"Easy sis. You don't need to rush her. She'll figure out things herself." Gwen said and the room was enveloped with silence.
Since no one had anything to say again. They both stood up to take their leaves.
"We'll visit some other time. Perhaps, when that stubborn brother of mine is back." Gwen said. She knew she couldn't call her older brother 'stubborn' in his presence so she just wanted to savior this feeling of calling him names she wouldn't dare call him.
"I'll be looking forward to it. Thank you." Elen replied and she embraced them in a hug before they finally left.
She closed the door and rested her back on it.
"Gosh! I'm feeling guilty. They're such nice people and now I feel like I'm the villain, giving fake expressions when I don't even mean it." Elen said.
"Well, it's not as if my feelings for them changed right? It's just that, I don't trust anyone again and Linda even has a connection with Morris in my dream. How can I trust them when everything's so complicated."
"I must find out! Is he the same Morris? I believe this happened for a reason and it seems fate is trying to give me a sign I must not ignore.
"I'll think this through first, and then I'll tell Alex."
...
"Where's he?"
"Still in his room." Finn simply replied.
"What?! He still hasn't gotten over what happened last night? Just who the hell was that woman? Something's not right." Lucas said.
"Everything's right. Robert is the one who's mentally ill. I mean, who would sulk over someone you just met for the first time, except that idiot." Finn said and Lago chuckled.
"Haha. I think Robert is acting kind of weird though. Lucas is right. Something's wrong somewhere." Lago said.
"I don't think anything's wrong, y'all are the only ones that are wrong. Just let Robert be, that idiot will come around sooner or later." Finn said and they just nodded.
"Well, maybe something else is bothering him anyway and he just used last night to cover it up." Lucas said.
They were about to leave to go to the courtyard but someone called out their names.
"You called?" Finn said.
"Of course I called, you idiot!" Bruce said.
"There's no need to call me idiot though." Finn mumbled but Bruce still heard and he arched a brow.
"I mean you can call me idiot all you want." Finn said and Bruce gave a satisfying smile.
Bruce had been Alexander's friend since childhood and even if he was annoying most times. They couldn't bring themselves to defy him. Apart from that, he was a powerful being whom no one could ever go against, except for Alexander. He always joked around but when it was about a serious matter, his attitude would change 360 degree and all of Alexander's men respected him no matter what.
At this moment, his gaze was serious and his aura blazed uncontrollably. Finn guessed it was something serious so he mentally pointed his ears to listen to anything he had to say.
"Y'all have to listen to what I have to say. Gather the rest of your comrades. We'll meet at the courtyard." He simply said and there was hesitation in Finn's eyes. He didn't know if he should tell him about Robert but after contemplating for a while, he finally decided to tell him.
"Uhm...Robert is still in his room after what happened last night, and he locked up the door." Finn said but far from what he expected, Bruce just chuckled, shocking Finn, Lucas and Lago.
"Sigh...that guy, I never knew he could turn into a teenage boy because of a woman? But I'll talk to him. You can all leave." He said and they all nodded watching Bruce figure disappear from their sight.
Huh? Just like that?! Nothing else? He's actually going to talk to him? Has a woman finally melted his own heart too?! Those were the thoughts that ran through their head.
.....
A loud knock echoed in Robert's room but he ignored it. He knew it was one of his comrades. He had told them earlier that he didn't want to be disturbed. Why couldn't they listen?! Couldn't he be left alone to sulk?! Even he, didn't understand anymore. Ever since the night that woman left, he couldn't bring himself to ignore her and move on. His mind was occupied with her thoughts only. He had hit on many ladies. Many was an understatement, he had hit on uncountable ladies and never for once, had he spared them a second glance even if they begged for his attention. But this woman, she just left yesterday and he couldn't bring himself to let her go. He just couldn't do that!
Whatever it is that is happening to him, he wanted it to stop because all of this wasn't his doing. He felt like something or someone was controlling him to behave the way he is now. He wanted it to stop because it was driving him insane.
The knock came a second time, making him break free from his thoughts. His anger intensified even more and it looked like whoever it was that made that knock, was going to die. He didn't want his comrades to see him in this state and yet, they're still bothering him.
"I promise, if I hear a single knock on that door, whoever that person is will die." He said but all he got was a devilish chuckle.
"Even if it's the prince? Robert, when did you become this childish? You want to kill all because of a woman you met yesterday?" The voice said and Robert gritted his teeth in anger.
"Bruce..." He mumbled under his breathe. He was the main reason he was in this state. Had he just told the princess everything, all of this wouldn't be happening. And now that he hears his voice. All he wanted to do was punch him till his handsome face gets brutalized.
"Don't whisper my name. You know I can still hear you." He said but Robert just stayed silent. He knew Bruce was Alexander's close friend and even though they joked to the extreme, he was still someone he respected as much as his prince.
His mind recalled what happened when he had totally prepared to attack him. 'Oh, so he's trying to get back at me for trying to attack him last night? Nice one Bruce.' He mentally said.
"Robert, open up." Bruce said and Robert just smirked. This is your fault and you expect me to open up? Ridiculous!
"Open up for the last time or I'll break this door down."
'Like I care.'Robert mentally said.
"I'm counting. One....two...three...four..." He stated but Robert remained silent.
"Eight....nine
...t -" He couldn't complete the last number because the door had already been opened. Great! You were waiting to open it at the last minute?!
Actually, Robert didn't open the door because of his threat or anything. He just wanted to hear what he had to say and maybe he could fix this mess. He knew he was the only one who could get answers to his questions, and that's why he decided to open the door.
Robert didn't wait a second longer and just walked up to his bed.
"Look Robert. I can only tolerate you because I had known you for a long time and you're now more like a brother than a friend or soldier." Bruce said and Robert almost rolled his eyes.
"If you consider me your brother then why did you do this? I'm very sure you knew about this but you ruined everything on purpose." Robert said.
"Would you let me explain?"
"I don't need any explanation. Just find a way to bring that woman back to me!"
"You're right. I knew about your plans and I ruined it on purpose but I did it for a reason." Bruce calmly said.
"Reason? And what could that reason be?"
"I can't say for now, but I promise to help you find her." Bruce said and Robert scoffed.
"Don't you consider me your brother anymore?"
"If I didn't consider you my brother, you think you'll still be here in a good state?" Robert said and Bruce smirked.
"It's really an easy task coaxing my little brother." Bruce said.
"I'm not your little brother! And you had better keep your promise! Find. her." He said and walked out of the room.
"Sigh....I wish you could understand everything." He said, talking to an empty room.
Everything's just so complicated right now but sooner or later, everyone would be out of the dark. They'll find out but he just had to be patient with that foolish prince. His thinking had become so low that he didn't even know if he was the Alexander he knew or just his doppelganger.
