"W-w-what are you doing." Elen said, with cheeks flushed. They had turned red from all of the blushing.
He didn't say a word, the maids at his quarters were all looking puzzled. His highness, never does this kind of things! Why is he suddenly carrying his wife in his arms, as if she's some kind of egg that needs to be taken care of, if not, it'll break.
Alexander, of course noticed all of the stares from his maids, but he didn't care less.
He finally reached their personal chambers, Elen thought that he'll put her down, but she was wrong. He carried her still, and laid her on the bed like she's some kind of baby.
The room was quiet for a short moment until Elen broke it. "You didn't have to do that." She said, but what followed was a deafening silence. Elen should have known that this man wouldn't talk unless it was necessary, and maybe now, he felt that it was not necessary.
Alexander was thinking why the hell he carried her in his arms. He never cared even if someone got hurt, so why did he suddenly feel the need to carry her when he noticed that her feet were aching? Maybe he did that because, she was now his wife, or else, he wouldn't do anything like that to any woman. Alexander needed to clear all of these thoughts from his head. He couldn't explain what he was feeling, was it anger or just hatred towards himself?
"Thank you." Elen uttered, making him break free from his thoughts.
He turned to look at her, and a slight smile curved up his lips, but it disappeared immediately. His gaze was now seriously fixed on hers. Elen couldn't help but feel chills running through her skin. Why did his mood suddenly change? Did she say something wrong? No, all she said was a simple 'thank you'. That couldn't possibly change his mood?
He stood before her and used the back of his hands to caress her cheek softly, and slowly took some of her hair and tangled them in his hands. His aura was becoming heavier each passing second and Elen couldn't help but feel scared. She shouldn't be scared! He's her husband now and she shouldn't show him any kind of fear, no matter how much he tries to make her get scared. She should show him that she's not a weak girl, who gets scared over very little things as this.
He lifted her chin and playfully pinched it. If anyone looked at him at that moment, they would think that he was the devil disguised as human.
"Don't....you ever tell me 'thank you'...ever." He told her with his most menacing voice, but surprisingly, he couldn't see a tiny hint of fear on her face. 'what a brave little rabbit.' He thought silently.
"Why? But you helped me, and I'm supposed to apprec-"
"I don't deserve anyone's appreciation, I don't deserve any of it." He said cutting her off.... "So, I'm warning you now, don't ever tell me those words again." He added.
"Why....why did you say so?"
She was at least expecting him to answer her, but what followed her questions was another round of deafening silence. She sighed inwardly. She should get used to all of this silence by him.
"You should sleep now. You must be tired after the long journey." He said totally ignoring her question, as if she never asked anything at all.
Her thoughts went back to the consummation of their marriage. She almost forgot that this was an arranged marriage and he could not touch her unless she gives her consent to it.
"Uhm... Alexander, about the c-c-consummation of the marriage...I...I...I'm." She stuttered, not knowing what to say.
"I understand, I won't have you until you give me the permission to." He said, making Elen's eyes wide open for a moment. He knew?! How did he know?!! Did she perhaps, at some point, tell him beforehand? No! She's sure she didn't tell him anything!! Or maybe he just thought the same as well. She thought
He ordered some maids to get her dressed, and bring her some food. She took her bath, and ate her food but Alexander was not in the room anymore.
"Where is his highness?" Elen asked.
"He went out for some work." A maid explained and Elen nodded.
After waiting for Alexander for a long while, her eyes felt heavy and soon, she closed her eyes and finally succumbed to the sleep that was calling her.
