This was something to be expected. Dowoon and Kiara aren't hanging with us much anymore. It might be the fact that they are in first lunch, but it's also because they both are focused on going to college right now, they a r e the only ones in our friend group that literally c a n.
"Man life is so boring! I'm getting so much homework and Sangah is working more hours, thanks a lot Hyun, just kidding, we only really hang out three times a week anyway. I'm gassed out man. My brain hurts." Suho says.
"How long has it been since your last modelling gig?" I ask.
"Like a month. I was making decent money, but not many people want to pay teenage models a 1 or 2 thousand dollar gig if they can spend 3-4 grand on a high level one, it's not like I have multiple brand deals or have the money to be a philanthropist."
"Hope it goes well for you man."
"Me too! I have like 2 grand left man."
"Try to become a K-pop star pffff."
"Honestly that doesn't seem like a terrible idea."
"But you'd have to break up with Sangah."
"Why again?"
"Remember, in Korea being a pop idol requires fantasies to brought upon. It's not like America where pop idols can get married young and still be popular."
"Hey!"
"Dude your looks are all you have going for you, it's not like you can sing or dance very good."
"So pop idol is a no then."
"How about working at Ferrari's while you think stuff out?" Jugyeong said.
"Yeah, you get to be around Sangah more too." I say.
"But I don't want her to think I'm all in her space though." Suho says.
"Then text her first." I reply.
"Kay."
.
.
.
The next day, Suho started working with Sangah at Ferrari's.
My high school life feels stagnant right now. Jugyeong and I are just going through the motions at this moment.
Suho and Sangah haven't been interesting lately either. Dowoon and Kiara are more to themselves too. It feels like helping them find happiness has also made them more reclusive as well.
We agreed to simply back off on them for a while.
.
.
.
I feel like dropping out of school right now, I mean it's not like my skill set, nor Jugyeong's are even fit for anything that requires a diploma. You know the saying, "College makes millionaires, but drop outs become billionaires."
If you aren't certain, look at every billionaire in history, I guarantee you at least a third of them didn't even make it past 11th grade.
.
.
.
Right then and there Jugyeong gives a suggestion that sparks this up.
"Babe, how does dropping out of school sound?" she asks. It's PE, so we have alone time right now, we are just cool-down walking after bootcamp exercise.
"I've been thinking about it since I ended a year with my first D grade."
"Same, I'm so out of it with school, half of our classes give way too much crap. GED doesn't even seem bad to be honest."
"It's better than another year of brain death, but what about our parents? How would they think?"
"My parents are fine with it because of the business we have."
"My dad would be fine with it, but my mom would absolutely freak out."
"Yeah and by the time we're both 18, there's no point in dropping out."
{This is your choice, I can give less of a crap.}
"Wanna give it a month and see how we feel?" I ask her.
"Yeah that seems good, but we're skipping tomorrow."
"Alright."
.
.
.
Today's the first day we've had entirely to ourselves since about a month ago.
{Yall need to do SOMETHING. Like literally anything. Go on a date for once or you can always...}
Date, but what kind?
"Hey Jugyeong, wanna go on a date today?" I ask her.
"A stay-at-home and order food date sounds great, it's too hot to go out in late August."
"Hmmm what do you wanna do here?"
"Binge-watch something would be ideal, but it's too hot to have the TV on for goodness sakes."
"We can play VR games."
"Hell nah! You s u c k at Beat Blader and VR Gridiron."
"Wanna get pissed together and play I Am Tortilla on my computer?"
"And I can take out all the anger on you after that if you know what I mean." she replies winking and licking her chops.
"First off let's get the AC from the garage."
"Y'all have a portable AC?"
"On a pallet I bought there was a portable AC and decided to keep it. Still profited, so I didn't care. Just I haven't remembered to get it."
"Let's just binge-watch at that point."
"Will you still take your anger out on me?"
She just blushes.
"I'll take that as a yes."
"Let's order food first."
"Like what?"
"Something we don't normally eat."
"How about some Jamaican food? I got hooked on Jerk Chicken from my cousins."
"Is there a good Jamaican place nearby?"
"This is a coastal asian country, anyone that speaks english is welcome. There has to be one somewhere."
I look on Stepsprint and Postbros and found a hole in the wall Jamaican place about 3 miles away.
"It'll come in like 40 minutes." I say.
"Alright that's fine. Now what to watch."
"How about The Villain Heros."
"I've been wanting to watch that show, it's about the college students in a hero school and their class has all the edgy kids and all the kids with powers that don't seem very heroic right?"
"Yep, I watched the first episode, but never got around to it too much because of work and all that."
"Well we have 5 seasons of this show and 12 hours to spend."
"Hmmmmmmmmmm yes."
