East Mid hospital, north wing. A man with disheveled grey hair laid down at the bed, with skin paling from fatigue and malnourishment.
"Why do I have to give my blood, every time you fucked up?" Gris said to the man laying down.
"*sigh*. I know you're working on something, but please, watch yourself, getting downed by your own miscalculation was, pitiful." The tall man with slicked back hair spoke yet again.
As the transfusion was proceeding smoothly, the pale man's complexion seemed to be improving. His pale skin slowly turned light brown, his disheveled hair, still grey.
"But hey. I got you here, bro. What's good about having Howard Green's blood, if not for helping others?" Arjun finally spoke, after getting some strength.
"Quit quoting my old man. Anyway, what are you working on this time?" Gris asked.
Pausing for a while, as if looking for something. Arjun finally said.
"There, out the window." Arjun pointed outward.
As the corridor of the North wing was at the edge of the building, a patient may be able see the people walking outside their room.
There, a lady in black was passing through, seemingly looking around.
"Why is she here?" Gris asked.
"Why, do you know her? Well, maybe if you read the news." Arjun answered.
"She's probably visiting her colleague. And got lost while exploring the building. Anyway, I had a project with her in mind." Arjun said gesturing his condition that resulted.
"I, don't know, I didn't watch the news. What happened to her?" Gris asked again.
"Then where did you know her from? She's not here long yet." Arjun asked back.
"Alright, so apparently she took down an illegal group smuggling star flakes, and managed to take down a delta level threat with out a team of defence officers. As a result, her crime prevention officer friend got hurt. Hence, why she visited here. Now, what's your story, you stalked a girl again?"
"No, I don't. Just, we met once at the interview. And I saw her again when we board the same train going here. Just that, I swear!" Gris said, his white cheeks turning red.
"Well, I better get going, my beeper's going to ring any moment now." Gris said, tidying his suit and walked out of the room.
"Who the hell used 2G stuffs these days. Well, thanks for the jump start."
"I'm not your personal Blood bank, you better take care of yourself." Gris said as he left.
Walking out to the corridor, Gris looked around the area. Above the window frames at the outer side of the building, he noticed small bumps the same colour with the frames. Looking at one of them, he proceeded to flip a finger.
"I had people here with me, Arjun. You won't be able to turn on the sprinkler again." Gris said while walking merrily.
Just then, an automatic door closed in on him and hit him at one side of the body.
---
"You underestimate me too much, man." Arjun said while looking up the ceiling, seemingly staring at nothing.
As he was too focused on pranking his friend that already left, Arjun forgot to check his surroundings.
"Are you sure you're related to Mr. Arjun, ma'am?" A nurse stopped a visitor trying to get into Arjun's room.
"Well, yes I am. In fact, I am already enlisted in the list of guests." The lady trying to visit Arjun gave him a sharp look. Indicating that she needed an assistance.
As the nurse was checking the tablet for the guest list, she suddenly found, scrolling further down that a new name was added to the list.
"Ah, are you perchance, Miss Yeri?" The nurse asked.
"Yes I am, may I go inside?" Yeri said forming her eyes into half moons.
Finally left alone, there was silence inside the patient bed chamber.
"So here you are, you don't know what you have done, or, do you?" Yeri asked coldly.
"Heyyyyy, I, can explain it." Arjun said as he stood from his bed carefully.
"You see, I got plugged in to these, I'm running out of juice." Arjun said gesturing at the transfusion equipment he's strapped in.
"Oh, I know, you have, what do you call it? A project, yes, so much so that you left a word back at the lodge. And you, didn't bother to clear any misunderstanding you have caused." Yeri said as she crossed her arm.
"I just left barely 24 hours. Maybe it's just you missing me too much. Lady, chill." Arjun said as the lady was approaching him.
"What the hell is even that?" Yeri said closing in on him.
"Look at you, getting hospitalised without someone to care for you. Fortunately, I brought fruits!" Yeri said as she handed over a bag of fruit.
As the word was escaping from his mind, Arjun has nothing to say.
"Uh, thanks? But, isn't it supposed to be given to your colleague?" Arjun noticed the note attached.
"Just, take it! It's to late to give it to him, and it's kind of awkward to go back there." Yeri said as she undid her mask and the strap underneath.
Revealing her sharp lips painted red with lipstick, she formed a smile as she got closer to Arjun.
"You've done it, boy. You've made me to be a rapist. Now, will you take responsibility? It will be, hard!" Yeri said with suggestive words.
*Beep beep beep* the sensors monitoring Arjun's heart rate was going off, indicating that he's got a high blood pressure suddenly.
"Get well, soon. Skinny boy." Yeri said, waving Arjun goodbye.
Still having hypertension, the nurses came to Arjun's room.
"Are you alright, sir? You seemed to have sudden surge on your blood pressure, we'll administer a medication shortly." A nurse said to him.
"Ah, no. No need, can you leave me alone now? I have a business I have to attend to. Alone." Arjun said as he held the hot sensation still lingering on his neck.
---
*Ping**!* Yeri's phone rang, indicating a message from office had come.
But apparently, it's not from the usual office down at 3F bus stop.
It was a written message, with personal number.
(I see you are still strolling around the east mid hospital. Come to the private area, at once!) - Breath.
Seeing the message, Yeri decided to look for the map of the building. She was now at the 4th floor, western ward.
Scrolling the map screen, she looked for the place where the private area is. It's apparently just upstairs, west ward.
As she made her way towards the area. The light suddenly flickered, and a static can be heard from the speakers on the corridor.
"Yeri, quickly! This way!" Noi appeared wearing skin tight black suit.
At the private area, there were guards seemingly from the association keeping the area clear.
"Assigned Agent Noi, you may come in." The guards said.
"Crime prevention officer Yeri, your presence was immediately expected. Please come at once."
Inside the room, there was a few people, Assigned Agent Bryce Eathan aka Smoke, Basic Defender S. Long, and Basic Defender Amanda.
"You are finally here." Breath said to Yeri, full of concern.
At the bed inside the private area, there was a man with quite a large figure. He has scars all over, forming cracks, and strapped tight with metal cuffs.
"The Owner, from the building yesterday. Isn't he in a coma? Why the need of such rushed urgency?" Yeri said wondering why they all gathered here.
"Well, as I said before. We can still mine some info from him even in a coma. We.. Tried to dive down to his mind. But alas, the runner we trusted was stuck in the owner's head, unable to wake." Breath explained.
There was a man with headgear connected to the owner's head via arrays of cables. But the man seemed to show no sign of consciousness.
"What's worse, their condition seemed to drop down by the minute." Mr. Long added.
"I questioned Yan, you know. After his cam got crushed, He, said that you uttered a word that resulted in his collapse." Amanda added as she pointed at the owner.
"I remember how you took down Arjun with a word. Perhaps, your spell got the better of our runner there. Please, get them out." Breath asked politely.
Yeri proceeded to come closer, first to the owner laying strapped to the bed, his skin still burning hot. Then, she approached the runner laying limp against the wall behind the bed.
When she reached her hand to touch the runner's head. She realized something.
"Hey, guys.. Can you, leave me alone? Trust me, I got this." Yeri said, tilting her head to the side.
"Damn it! Smoke? Noi? It's up to you two. But, honestly, I don't recommend leaving her too long." B class S. Long said.
"We'll wait 5 minutes outside, then we'll barge in, whether you want it or not. Sorry, it's just, too risky." Breath said, leaving the room.
Outside the room, waiting bay. The seniors were sitting at the metal chairs laid along the corridor side.
"Arjun, see if you can take a look inside." Breath said looking at a security camera.
*riinggg**!*
A communicator built in on Breath's mask rang.
"Hey, I can't seem to look at anything inside. I'll send the live footage." A voice talked on the small speaker built in.
Across the room, near the intersection of the corridors. On the map and helper screen, a screen blinking rapidly. It seems to be prompting the seniors to look closer.
A scene were being played on the monitor, it was Yeri and the people that's laying unconscious. But, nothing seems to make a move, not even the monitoring screens showing any change. It all seemed to be frozen in time.
The scene changed to another angle, then another, until it showed the one looking directly at Yeri's face.
The face, of the lady wearing all black, with the mask removed, was nowhere to be found.
