Chapter 72 - Chapter 72

I opened my eyes and looked around. Everything flooded back to my mind and things hit me. My trial to the human world to experience the life of human beings. When I sat up straight, my disciples ran inside, kneeling by my crystal bed.

"Your majesty, you've returned and passed the trial. Congratulations!"

"Congratulations, your majesty." My disciples hollered and I raised my hand to dismiss them.

My head was flooding with my stay in the human world and the things I've gone through. Yes, the trial has taken a rather wrong path but it reminded me about my unfinished business.

Yes! The deity of werewolves!

Gathering my message in my golden bead, I flicked my finger and it flew to the palace where the deity of werewolf resides.

If you were wondering, I am the deity of human beings, the one who's in charge of everything that happens in the human realm.

The deity of werewolves and vampires are my people because they are the sub-species I created. I hold a lot of power in heaven which is almost on par with the emperor himself. If I wanted to throw him off the throne, I can do it with grace because he isn't my match.

Talking about the deity of vampires, a thought popped in my head and I felt sudden anger as my soul almost vanished, had it not been the deity of werewolf. A normal soul would have vanished and never get the chance to reincarnate had it not been Cameron, the deity of poison and Selene, the deity of werewolves.

Humans are the species I was assigned to look after ever since my great master retired. You see, the deities never die like humans do. Instead, they get tired of working as deities and retire, exploring endless heaven and enjoying themselves.

I've been looking after humans for around two million years and I witness so many things along the way. But hell broke loose and everything got out of my hand when I went to explore the beautiful heaven with Vincent, the love of my life whose soul disappeared from the universe by the emperor.

The story behind the palace of heaven is beyond complicated to explain in a sentence. Vincent was the deity of flowers. Even after millions of years, I can't forget him because he's my destined one.

I tried to gather his soul ever since then but didn't get any, until my last encounter with Tyler. Rosalind wasn't fated to meet Tyler or anyone from the world of werewolves but looks like I will have to ask the deity of destiny some questions regarding it.

I got up from my bed and walked towards the crystal mirror, framed with diamonds. It was the mirror that connected the human world and ours. It wasn't powerful enough to bring me to the human realm but it showed me everything that took place down there.

Without even uttering the word, the mirror showed me an image of a man, slouched over our bed, crying his eyes out and murmuring something. In the other side of the room, Rose's parents stood, hugging each other as they supported each other as they wept.

Sure, even though I don't have any connection to Rose's parents or anyone in the room, seeing a certain someone breaking down infront of my eyes made my eyes tear up. I didn't notice then but the more I think about it, the more he resembles him that I am almost certain, it's him.

When a soul vanishes, he/she will never reincarnate but since Vincent was a deity, there's a chance that he might have reincarnated for the last time before it would completely disappear and it took million years for him to be found.

I wanted to wipe his tears so badly, letting him know that we've been together in his previous life, the life before that and the other one too. I've checked his record and I seemed to be in his life every time.

I wanted to run upto him and let him know how much I love him and all the things he missed all this while. I've been lying to myself all this while, telling me that I will be fine as long as I revive him but actually, the truth is that I barely held on after he left.

Finding out that we were the last person we got to see in each other's lives didn't help at all. The billions of years I've spent with him was gone in a blink of an eye and I refused to accept it until this trial.

But now who he is, I won't let him go, no matter how much I will have to sacrifice to bring him back, I will do it no matter the cost.

turned around as someone was approaching my room. I changed the shabby I was wearing and changed it to something fancy.

A pink bead flew inside my room and a familiar figure appeared. Selene was on her knees as she worked for me. After waving my hand above her head, I helped her stand up.

After Vincent vanished, I cast a spell on everyone in heaven so that they can't see my real face. Not a single soul remembered my real face by now and that explains the boldness of Hecate and the bitch.

When Selene saw me, she stumbled back, her eyes as wide as a saucer and I smiled gently at her reaction. Selene has been working under me for about half a million years and has always been an obedient subordinate.

"Welcome back." I said and she gasped.

"Y-your highness?" She held her hand infront of her mouth, masking her surprise as if she said something she shouldn't have.
