Chapter 2 - Ambush in The Sky (1)

-(Spring, Day -1-)-

The sound of whirling metal blades from an airship filled the late evening sky. The shadow of it passing could be seen over and around the clouds. A strong wind suddenly picked up and moved the clouds, revealing the airship. The full moon's light shined down on the airship and gave everything a pale mystical glow to it for a few seconds. But the clouds moved back, blocking the moon's light. It was traveling at an unusual fast pace, this airship, the Norad Express was returning back to its home port, a town called Selphia.

It had a football shaped blimp, a large spinning gold and grey metal propeller was attached in the middle top of the light grey blimp. The tip of the blimp had a gold round-headed bullet shaped end. At the back of the blimp, were long white and gold fin-like tails. Aquamarine green looping drapes were attached to the sides and near the belly of the blimp. Rows of strong steel cables that came down from nearly every part of the blimps belly were bolted to the caravel-like ship attached below. Another large propeller was bolted to the butt end of the ship. It's figure head was an odd one... a golden, fish faced and fat mermaid with a round beret on it's head.

The passing winds from the Norad Express's fast pace, ruffled the crimson red looping clothe hanging down from the middle of the blimps belly. Barrels and wooden crates were stacked and stored all over her oakwood planked top deck. The soft hum of her engine powering the propellers could be heard slightly above the wind. One of two of the airships small crew was checking out the cargo with a focused expression.

At the helm, her captain decked out in a dark navy blue long coat steered the wheel, a calm and joyful expression on his face. Long chestnut brown hair blew back from the wild winds. His hands gripped the steering wheel as he kept it steady, his thoughts drifted towards the mysterious young passenger facing outwards to the night sky. She had come to his  ship, a nervous and determined energy around her. He wondered what caused the lass to be so stressed, but kept his questions to himself.

....

Dark olive green eyes stared intensely out at the darkness of the night. The brows of the young woman furrowed with her dread and determined filled thoughts.

Two long twin tails of pale pastel green hair swayed slightly from the wind. The young woman shivered slightly, chilled by the cold night winds. Her long straight bangs moved with the wind as well, her pale creamy white skin of her cheeks flushed red from the bitting cold. A small silver and black flower-petal like tiara headband was placed in the middle of her hair. A short silver chain with a small ruby pendant hung down from the middle of the tiara's front. It rested just a little above her long bangs. White butterfly like ribbons tied the top ends of her twin tails to the sides of her head neatly. Gold and black cylander shaped hair clips were clasped shut near the end of her twin tails.

She wore a form fitting white tunic with a frilly hem at the bottom. A small leather chest plate was worn over the white tunic, protecting her breast and back. Just slightly above the brown leather chest plate was a white and pink layered frilly clothe. A high collar and gold paneled shawl rested on her shoulders and neck. Hanging down from the middle of the high collar was a black and gold three petal shaped pendant.

Worn a little underneath hem of the tunic, was a white miniskirt with row of black x stiched into the middle of it, around her hips and upper thighs. Around the mini-skirt was a bellowy white and pink knee-length extension of clothe. A pair of well fitted white boots were worn on her feet, the wide rim of the boots reached mid-way to her knees.

Wide white rimmed leather gloved hands were protected a little from the nights chill. She raised her left hand and held it against the middle pouch of 2 other brown leather pouches, that were attached to a leather belt hanging at an angle around her waist. She glanced down at the pouch, fully aware of the weight and importance of what she carried, it could- no would save the life of the person she had been sent to see.

She stood to the left port side of the main deck and stood there stiff and tense. The young womans grip on the pouch tightened for a second. 'This ship is on its way to Selphia. The town is famous for its "God", and I am now trying to deliver this gift to her. I don't have much time....!'  her thoughts were heavy with her darkening emotions.

She took a deep shaky breath to calm herself down and regain her composure. She turned towards the captain. The captain glanced back at her noticing her movement, his brown eyes flickered with curiosity, nodded at her. "How close are we to Selphia?" She asks the man. The captian grinned."Where almost there. Why are ye sight seeing?"

The young woman nervously smiled. "Y-yes... Something like that." The captian nodded again and and smiled softly, his eyes lost in memories. "It's a nice town, Beautiful air and scenery, an' got a great atmosphere. You can feel the protection o' the god when you're standin' on them roads. You'll enjoy your stay for sure." The young girl fell silent for a few seconds, a determined light glinted in her eyes.

"I hope so." She quietly whisperes then turns away from the captian and fell into her thoughts once more, unaware of the hidden danger that had snuck itself aboard the ship with her.
