Synopsis
“If I’m going to die a witch; I’ll first live as one.” The empire of Aventine was made up of six kingdoms each represented by a class of magic users. Rogues, paladins, bards, beasts, alchemists, and druids. They lived in harmony under the influence of the temple of clerics, who honor the great saintess that granted them this power. Laemise was raised by her grandmother who made her believe she was no different from the rest. It wasn’t until she was sentenced to death at the stake did she realize that wasn’t the case. For they claimed her to be a witch, and she would die not knowing what that meant. However, death does not come so restfully for those who lie in regret. What would she do if she miraculously got another chance. Revenge? Survival? Solitude? Whatever it may be, she is first going to have to figure what it means to be a witch while evading the authority of the temple. Even if she has to submit to the King of Chaos himself, who mysteriously draws strength from her with every intimate encounter. “So how did I somehow end up in his highness’ bed?!” ~ First work, thank you to any and all readers! Chapter 1 - Prologue: In a Clockwork Room

It felt like an eternity had passed in a single second. Where once stood a beautifully corrupt kingdom, now displayed what many would call a nightmare. Except this nightmare would end with dead screams. A complete blood bath, not a single soul shown mercy. It was a scene that left it's onlooker quite satisfied.

"It looks like a happy ending to me, why change it?"

The gruesome scene disappeared from the orb, with just the reflection of a young men looking back. He had quite a unique appearance. Half black and half red hair, dressed flamboyantly enough to match his personality, and behind his mask were red piercing eyes.

"What I want, is not a consolation prize." the other mysterious figure, in an even more mysterious clockwork room, responded.

Silence was incapacitated by nonrhythmic ticking. The young man scratched his head nervously. Few people made him feel that way, but this one managed to leave him on edge.

"You do realize turning back time isn't exactly simple. It changes the whole dynamic of things." he tried again whilst dramatically talking with his hands.

The other was unconvinced.

"Are you telling me you will not fulfill your promise?"

The two looked at each other intensely before the young man finally sighed in defeat.

"Fine, fine you win. I am man of my word. What point of your life do you wish to go back to?" he asked.

"No, not my life."

The young man's eyes widened in surprise.

"But tha-"

One look at the figure and the young man already knew any retort would be pointless. He reluctantly held out his palm until black thunder struck around the now beaming orb. The clocks in the room all began to turn rapidly in reverse, the noise enough to drive one mad. The young man looked back at the figure once more.

"I hope you don't end up regretting this."

Overwhelmed by the pace, the clocks all shattered as glass shards rained down with a crystal like quality. The young man noticed a smirk on the figures face.

"It will be different this time."

No one, not even fate, would know what was to take place. Back at the beginning again.
