Once they had finished chatting that night, they each went to their respective chambers to sleep. Dagon found himself lost within the depths of his own mind, wondering what kind of king he'd be, and whether not he was deserving of such a title. He also had found himself fascinated by his father's past and wanting desperately to know more, but, as Gänhir had said, they had a long day on the morrow and they needed rest.
While it was true Dagon was tired, he couldn't sleep, and through most of the night he kept pondering on both the past and the future, and how they are connected. From how the war started, to the events of the current time. He wondered if they really had a chance against the other three kingdoms… or if they'd just be completely annihilated.
Eventually, even amidst the dark thoughts, Dagon did fall asleep. His new clothes were warm and comfortable, and the blankets of the bed kept him even more warm and he just sank into the sheets, until eventually, he fell asleep.
The next morning, Dagon was woken up early, before the sun had even risen, by Sephtis gently nudging him with his snout.
"What's going on..?" He asked, rubbing the tiredness out of his eyes and stretching, his limbs trembling as he did so.
"We are leaving now. The flight to Leina will take roughly four hours or so, as Lasia is the largest region." Sephtis growled. "Gänhir said he wants to arrive as early as possible to begin on the important things."
"Important things..?"
"He gave no more information than that."
Dagon, not wanting to leave the comfort of his bed, forced himself up, throwing his feet over the bedside and standing up. He yawned and stretched, and then the sliding door swung open.
"Hurry up, we are leaving." Bella's voice came.
"Yeah, I know." Dagon said, "I'm coming."
Dagon got atop Sephtis, clambering onto the saddle and hooking himself to it. Then he and Sephtis exited the building into the cold outside. It was even colder without the sunlight, and Dagon's warm clothes did not seem to be of much use anymore. He could see his own breath every time he exhaled, as well as Sephtis's.
Bella, Ellira, Gena, Shiratt and Gänhir were waiting outside.
"Are Enric and…" Dagon started, but he couldn't remember the girl's name.
"Aleaya?" Bella asked. "Can't even remember someone's name. Some king."
"Shut up." Dagon groaned. "I'm tired. But yeah, them, are they not coming?"
"No. This was their home, before the war struck eleven years ago. So they are staying here, plus if we come under attack, they can defend this town and report to us." Gänhir said. "Makes things safer overall."
"I see."
"We will be taking off and flying straight across the Eastern Silver Fang, we will be flying North East towards Leina. It will take roughly four hours and we will not be stopping, so don't waste any energy without a good purpose." Shiratt growled.
"Correct. And keep your eyes out. When I overthrew the king, there were some troops and enslaved drakes that had escaped, so there is a possibility of us being ambushed." Gänhir said.
"Understood." Bella spoke.
"Wait, do you want us to kill any troops if we see them..?" Dagon asked.
"Preferably, yes. They can prove a threat later on, so yes. Kill them."
"Do we have to..?"
"Yes. Dagon, to be king is to do whatever it takes to protect your kin. Even if it means to kill those below you." Gänhir said grimly. "Now then, with that dark note out of the way, let us be off."

Mourtas stood before his king, Zickarys at his side, the dragon's talons clacking across the stone floor. The throne hall was large and spacious, the black stone having gold patterns sprawling through them. Lamps of flickering flames hung along the walls and statues of the kings before lined the sides of the wall way.
"I thought I told you that your dragon cannot come into the royal hall, Mourtas." The king spoke, his voice booming.
The king was an old, dried up man. He was pudgy and fat, garbed in rich fur coats and his eyes were dead and blind. Gold rings adorned each finger and jewelry hung from his neck and clothes. A golden crown studded with precious gems sat atop his head of long white hair.
Two guards covered head to toe in black armor stood on either side of the king.
"Sorry, Alexsys, but this is urgent." Mourtas said.
"Are you referring to the situation in Lasia? Yes, I've heard. Deal with it how you see fit." Alexsys waved his hand lazily before digging it into a bowl of foot and stuffing his mouth full of rich, perfectly cooked meat.
"Oh, don't worry, I will." Mourtas said coldly, then nodded to the guards, who raised the spears at their sides, moving towards Alexsys.
"Good. I expect it to be taken care of within the next month, sooner if you can handle it." The king spoke nonchalantly.
"Yes, of course, don't worry. It will be taken care of.
And then the guards thrust their spears through Alexsys, one going through his ribs and heart from the right, and the other through his throat from the left.
The king dropped his bowl of food, clasping helplessly at his throat as inaudible gurgles sounded from his mouth, blood spilling from his grotesque body and dripping down the throne onto the stone, where it pooled up in a puddle of red.
And then he went limp.
The guards withdrew their spears and stepped away from Alexsys as Mourtas strode up to the throne, reaching his hand towards the king and grabbing the crown.
"Your rule is over, you obese freak. Don't worry, the little uprising will be taken care of… and then all the humans and the dragonic races will be enslaved under my rule. War shall never exist again, so don't worry. Your kingdom is in good hands." He grinned, placing the crown on his own head. "Humans and Dragonic races shall be ruled by me alone, and all conflict will cease, both races on equal footing below one iron fist."
Mourtas motioned towards Zickarys, who then came forward, his jaws crunching down on Alexsys's head and torso, pulling the king away as he consumed his flesh, tearing him part by part.
The guards took a knee, bowing before Mourtas as he then took his seat on the throne with a confident grin, blood coating his black armor.
"And so begins a new era…"
