I stare at my reflection in the mirror. I look different, like someone else is staring back at me in the mirror. Not Mia, someone else. They've shortened my hair, though I don't think it looks terrible, and this dress makes me look like royalty. It's white, as white as the Moon, and there's a train. They've added a cape to the ensemble as well, though I don't know what it could be for.
I start descending the stairs. The house is eerily empty, there's not a single person around. I was expecting someone to wait for me, at the bottom of the stairs or by the door, but there was no one. I'm all alone. The front doors are wide open, and when I peer outside, I'm astonished by what I see.
The Moon Festival.
I was expecting everything but this. I thought a small get-together with the pack, like the Luna's Banquet Cayden threw for me when we mated, but this is surreal. There's nothing small about this.
