Immediately after the conversation with Amani ended, Becca packed an overnight bag and headed out of her apartment to Nicholas's house. Inside her car, she brought out her phone to call him again. Even though they are engaged now she still felt it wouldn't be proper if she just showed up at his house without first informing him that she would be coming around.
Her heart thudded with anxiety when the call connected and his phone began to ring. Then she started thinking to herself...
'How am I going to start the conversation with him when he picks up? Should I apologize to him first or should I immediately explain to him why I didn't think it was necessary to tell him about the query?..."
Nicholas's phone however continued ringing before it eventually stopped when he didn't answer it. She called him again and again and again but still, he didn't pick up her calls.
