Tito knew Gianni had a soft spot for his mother and he thought Gianni would flare up in anger at how he just called his mother brainless to his face. Tito laughed in satisfaction when Gianni just kept staring back at him, looking bored and emotionless

He said with a little bow in Gianni's direction, laughing drunkenly. Which Gianni knew was just an act. He knew he was far from being drunk.
