Chapter 14 - Hurt People

*trigger warning: sexual content/violence* Please note: I DO NOT CONDONE VIOLENCE NOR UNDERAGE DRINKING.

Magenta woke to the sound of a wine glass clinking against a table.

Her head pounded like crazy and her eyes felt extremely heavy as if someone had made her go without sleep for more than a day. As her eyes slid open, the room spun again before clearing into focus. Danger alerted her senses, and the voice before her said, "You're awake."

Scrambling up, Magenta looked at the source of the voice. Her dress was rumpled, and her hair felt sticky.

Reese McCartney sat in front of her, drinking wine.

"All this fuss for one single girl." Reese traced the wine glass top.

Magenta rubbed her head, and she tried to remember what happened before this.

"Reese, what's going on?" Magenta asked, still frantically trying to figure out where she was now and where she had been. Her mind felt blank, yet she still remembered some things, up until the classroom break up with Reese.

Reese looked different. He wore all black, making his blond hair stand out. He was wearing black leather gloves too. Why was he drinking alcohol? They were only sixteen and underage, weren't they? Wasn't he?

Magenta was in a party room, but that was all she could tell. The lights were low, there was no clock. Only strobe lights blink to blue, red, green and making the headache worse.

"You were supposed to be easy," Reese raised an eyebrow, watching Magenta struggle to move and talk coherently.

Magenta tried to process these words, but they were too much all at once. The memory hit Magenta like a ton of bricks. She and Shelby were together, and then suddenly they passed out on the way back to campus.

"Where's Shelby!" Magenta asked.

"Questions. I'll ask you one." Reese said.

"Do you know why you're here?" He asked.

Magenta shook her head, her breathing getting shallow.

"You should know. I thought you were supposed to be smart," Reese sneered.

"What, what are you talking about?" Magenta asked, still in a confused state.

"You broke it off with me without so much as a kiss. I deserve that kiss. I deserve more," Reese declared.

"This is for a kiss?" Magenta repeated.

Realization set into Magenta. This was a setup. From the beginning, Reese had never cared for or respected Magenta. He only wanted her physically and the thought sickened Magenta. Her heart squeezed tightly, at the betrayal of trust. He even told her those stories defending himself and like a lovesick fool, she'd walked into the trap and believed him.

Finding her tongue unstuck from the roof of her mouth, Magenta could speak properly and respond.

"That story, of you and your best friend..." Magenta was trying to reach Reese, with one last olive branch.

The fact that she trusted Reese, let him touch her, made Magenta feel weak now. How could she go on? How could she continue now?

"Ah. Matt? His sister, Clare. She was hot, no lie. Bad in bed." Reese said.

Reese's words confirmed Magenta's suspicions. She was duped this whole time thinking she'd snatched the best boyfriend when he was the worst. The kind who lied and cheated, a wolf in a sheep's skin. A devil in an angel's body.

"Now that we've gotten to the topic, I can finally eat. I've been waiting all night," Reese said, advancing toward her.

He took slow purposeful steps. He couldn't wait to have his fill of this girl, but he could take his time. They had the time to spare this night.

Petrified, Magenta tried to get up. Her body still failed her though her voice was still there. She felt numb from her toes to her head and could barely move but she had to try. She had to try to make a run. Run, scream, move, anything!

She screamed, as loud as she could in her fragile state. There was no response. That scared Magenta even more and she started trembling again. This could not be happening. But finally her fear had switched her body's response to go from stop. That was a sign of adrenaline working in her veins. She could fold and clench her fists with more strength now.

Reese laughed, his head thrown back in abandon.

"Keep screaming. Nobody will hear you. This is my room. Everyone here serves me."

Magenta wondered if there were cameras watching them, if there were people on the outside of the room at Reese's beck and call or disposal. But there was no more time to think. Reese was ready for some action.

Reese seized Magenta into his arms, pinning her arms down.

She fought with tooth and nail, but he held her tighter, he was stronger. She lifted a hand and he brought her hand down. Grinding into her, he breathed into her neck victoriously. She leaned away fighting against his arms, trying her best to get some kind of weapon close by. He lifted her body and drew her against the table, his lips and tongue slimy and raining wet kisses against her skin. It felt so wrong, and Magenta could not stand it anymore. Her hands that scrambled to find a weapon landed on the half-filled wine bottle next to the wine glass.

She clutched the wine bottle and smashed it onto Reese's head with blunt force. Reese stumbled back, as the wine spilled over his body. Drenched in the pale red wine, Reese looked like someone out of a horror movie. He smiled, his teeth also stained with wine as it spilled into his mouth he licked the wine.

He pulled a shard of glass from his finger and licked his thumb. The blood went across his lips, staining his pale face, like a bedsheet getting stained.

Magenta backed into the couch.

This was it.

Reese would overpower her, she couldn't fight anymore. He put his hands around her neck, his eyes glinting maliciously.

"Try to fight it, I like it," Reese said.

The effects of whatever drug she'd been given were wearing off, but she still felt weak. She wouldn't give up struggling against him no matter how much he tried to coax her, but she didn't know how else she could get out of the situation.

"Wait." Magenta said.

"Please don't do this, Reese. What if, what if your dad finds out? You'll get in trouble!"

"Find out? If he found out he wouldn't do anything. He doesn't care!"

"That's, that's not true. He's your dad," Magenta tried to reason.

Reese said, "Shut up, no more talking."

Just as Reese moved in to kiss Magenta on the lips, the door slammed open.
