Inside Melissa's office, there was a fifty-year-old man who introduced himself as Nicholas Parson from the FBI.
"The FBI should be taking over this case now," Nicholas said casually and Melissa starred at him blankly. All the excitement she had a while earlier evaporated into thin air and she wished she could chase the man out of his office.
For a moment, she had thought that help had come yet the guy actually wanted to take over the case. The case she had been working her ass off even if her work hadn't yielded fruits yet. The case was like her baby and she knew it was unfair for her to hold on to it like that if she wasn't bringing the culprit to book. She couldn't imagine what the girls and their families went through daily, knowing that the rapist was still roaming the world freely and maybe raping more and more victims.
