Chapter 174: Bloated happiness
The leg tapping increased until she heard the door to the principal's office open and she stood up immediately.
Like she anticipated, her father came out of the office clutching his briefcase and with an unreadable countenance.

Starr stared at him, cowering would only make things worse for her and she wasn't the type to cower anyway. She was a Knight.
She took a step forward towards her father but he simply pointed at the entrance/exit of the hallway and said through his clenched jaw
"Car…now!"
It was only two words but it conveyed a lot to Starr. She might be a teenager but she wasn't stupid.
She bent down to pick up her backpack and she prayed like hell that her father would walk ahead of her but she wasn't so lucky.
