Chapter 170: Starring in the mirror
June's face was tear free. Apart from the fingernail she was biting, she had no other discernible emotion.
June turned around and went to the kitchen. Anika followed her behind.
"I feel like I am on fire. Is there fire burning my hair, Nikka?" June asked her.
"No, not that I can see" Nikka answered.
She watched June switch on the tap in the kitchen sink and she placed her head inside.
Nikka waited for her to take it out but she didn't.
How long can someone hold their breath underwater? Whatever time it was, Nikka didn't want to wait around to find out. She moved closer and she pulled her out.
"Stop! Okay? Both of you should just stop! Maybe if you say it out loud instead of trying to drown yourself in the kitchen sink or Asher drinking himself to death, you might actually start grieving in a healthy way! So, just say it already!"
"Say what?" June asked.
