Chapter 154: Old flame
Pepper was never the type of girl that likes loud music or crowded spaces; it was why she prefers to sip a cup of Cocoa in her living room than in a crowded nightclub. She found the way people's bodies touched constantly, an invasion of privacy.
But today wasn't that type of day.
Today, she needed a place where she couldn't hear herself think or her phone ring.
Asher must have called her a million times even though she had explicitly told him not to. She was on her sixth glass of drink when she saw the young man across the bar giving her the signal.
Pepper smiled seductively at him; if it was the good old single days, he would have made a good antidote to her pain even if it would be a temporary fix.
The man gestured for the bartender to pour a drink for her on his dime and the bartender obliged. Soon, the young man moved to sit beside her.
"Hi" Pepper yelled and despite the loud music the young man heard her.
