Chapter 114: Into the raging storm
Asher watched with intensified terror as the woman he loved walked straight into the raging storm. His heart leaped as he dashed after her. He prayed softly in his heart to be able to catch her before something terrible happened.
"Pepper!" He yelled but the storm swallowed his voice.
He looked around and he only saw her disappearing back when the lightning temporarily made everything brighter. He took off in a run towards her, she was heading towards a huge tree that was dancing to the beat of the wind that had a branch that might snap.
"Calliope!" Asher yelled again and this time around she heard him.
"Stop following me!" She warned him.
Asher increased the pace when he watched as the branch started to snap and it was headed for her head. No one would survive that kind of hit and without thinking, he shoved her and she fell. He used his body as a shield as the tree branch finally snapped.
