Chapter 57: Saving grace
Pepper couldn't sleep throughout the night. She kept tossing and tossing and she ended up standing up and staring out of her window for the better part of the night. In the morning, she still couldn't get what June said out of her head and so she left the house early to avoid facing her family.
She made it to work so early that she had to use her personal keys to unlock the office. It only surprised her further when the pretty boy she calls her P. A was at his desk when she made her way to her office
"Good morning. Did your house burn down?" Pepper asked Kurt when she entered her office.
Kurt smiled but he took his time in answering. He was holding some documents and he looked like he had a worse night than Pepper. Pepper took another step and she discovered that her office was littered with documents too as it was open.
"What were you doing in my office, Kurt?" Pepper asked with a chilly voice.
