The pain can be read on Eliza's face. The blows that Audrey gave her still hurt terribly and, sitting on the bench, the young lady does her best not to move. She has a lot of trouble understanding her rival's actions, but she has every intention of doing everything to take it from her. After a few minutes, the pain begins to fade when, at the same time, she sees Alison advancing in her direction before calling out to her.
- What are you doing here? Are you aware that I've been waiting for you for more than ten minutes?
- I'm sorry, answers Eliza with a trembling voice.
- What happened? Alison goes on seeing her friend's-soaked jeans. Have you tried fixing a faulty faucet?
- Thank you for laughing at me. I had a really unpleasant time and your joke is in very bad taste.
- I'm sorry if I hurt you... It wasn't my intention. What happened? She soaked your jeans?
- She soaked my jeans and she kicked me! adds Eliza. Hayley was with her.
- What did she do? Audrey can't believe her ears. Why did she do this?
- She wants me to stop hovering around Noah at all costs. She did not go out of her way to achieve her ends.
- What else did she do to you? Alison asks her.
- They totally blocked me in the toilet and they humiliated me. I was so waiting for someone to join us, but it never happened.
- I can't believe she got that far. How far will this plague go to achieve its ends?
- I don't know, but it's a pity that they do me so much wickedness. You know what's worse in this whole thing? Noah doesn't even speak to me.
- You have to go and bring them back to the director; this situation cannot continue. If she dared to hit you today, she won't hesitate to kill you if you persist in approaching Noah!
- She made it clear to me that I shouldn't tell anyone. After what I just went through, I'm not interested in getting a second coat. You have no idea how much pain I am in right now. I wonder if their blows won't leave bruises on my body. Mixed with all this, I suffer enormously from the absence of Noah... My life is a real hell.
Eliza's eyes fill with tears.
- It pains me to see you like this. If I had known, I would have accompanied you to the bathroom. So, you're gonna let them walk all over you without doing anything?
- That's the best thing to do...
- Audrey isn't aware that her boyfriend isn't talking to you anymore?
- She knows it, but she does it for her own pleasure. It must amuse him to see me suffer.
- You should change your jeans. You are in fragile health and you risk getting sick if you stay in these clothes.
- You have no idea how cold I am right now, but I'm doomed to stay in these soaked clothes until the end of class; I don't have any others. And then, I have more serious things to settle...
- Don't tell me there's worse? wonders Alison.
- My phone was in my pocket when she threw the water on me. It no longer turns on.
- Don't tell me that's the one your parents just gave you!
- It's the same one. They'll kill me when they find out.
- Tell them what happened.
- I'll try, but I doubt very much that they understand.
- By the way, I think I have a dress that could fit you in my locker. It was given to me for my birthday, but I don't like it. I only wore it once. She can help you out for the day. Accompany me so that I give it to you... I can't see you in this state. Luckily, we are almost the same size!
Eliza is happy to be able to change, being very uncomfortable in her clothes. Rising from her chair, she accompanies her friend at a slower pace to the locker. Upon arriving, she finds Alison rummaging through her dresses before finally finding the one she was looking for. Not wasting too much time, especially since recess will soon be coming to an end, Eliza takes the dress and goes to the girls' locker room to change, accompanied by Alison so as not to have any unpleasant surprises. While undressing, the teenager is happy not to see any mark, but the pains are very present. As she puts the dress on, Eliza is relieved to see that it fits her well.
- You look radiant in that dress! brings out Alison. It didn't fit as well when I wore it.
- It's true that it suits me well.
- Take it for yourself. It would be a shame if she slept in my locker when you could show her off.
- Thank you, said Eliza with a smile.
Having regained her smile, when she can't help looking at her reflection in the windows, Eliza comes across Noah as she leaves the locker room. Giving him a smile, she discovers, to her surprise, that he doesn't calculate her. Wanting to try to reconnect, she calls him, but he continues on his way without even turning around, disappointing the young lady.
- My poor darling, says Alison sadly after witnessing this scene, especially since the young man's reaction affected her best friend. Let some time pass. He'll eventually calm down...
- It's useless to hide your face. Our friendship is beautiful and well ended, she says while the tears run down her cheeks.
Realizing that she has lost Noah, Eliza breaks down and bursts into tears in front of her friend who can do nothing but hug her. Not appreciating the current situation, Alison has every intention of helping Eliza without her knowing anything about it.
