It was not long after that conversation that Hugh arrived with Ruby's locket in hand. Colman knew not what to make of the sudden appearance of this breed of cyclops. How did the Hunchback know where to find him? To the surprise of both Colman and Ruby, no one seemed to pay Hugh any mind, almost as if they had seen him before here in this neighbourhood.
Handing the locket to Ruby, Hugh turned to Colman and said: "Master Gardiner says the symbol is a triskelion, a druidic symbol. He also asks that you return to the cathedral."
"I will return when I am ready, Hugh." Stated Colman. "Had Master Gardiner anything more to say on this triskelion?"
"He will tell you more himself and you will return to the cathedral now."
"I will not, I will return when I am ready, Hugh."
Ruby could only watch the Hunchback, unsure what he was going to do. Watching him clench his fists, the Walking Girl thought for sure that Hugh would attack Colman and bring him back to the cathedral unconscious. Even Colman was unsure of what his mentor's adoptive son was going to do and began to grow tense the moment Hugh clenched his fists.
When Hugh unclenched his fists, Colman wondered if the Hunchback did not want a repeat of what had happened earlier. Hugh may have been deaf, but he certainly wasn't dumb.
"I will inform Master Gardiner that you shall return when you are ready." Stated Hugh.
And with that, Hugh made his exit from the neighbourhood with no one paying him any mind. Wherefore? Wherefore did no one seem to notice him?
