"So Priest Sama , what do you want to say ? and why did you ask me to lie ?,"
Priest Axelion is a respected priest he would never do something recklessly . There must be some reason behind his different behaviour earlier .
I saw a glint in the priest's eyes , he gazed straight at my eyes and said "Your Grace , your son is a sacred hero."
WHAT !?
What was this situation exactly . The story of sacred heroes wasn't something unknown to the residents of this world . Even small children knew that story .
This was a great shock to me . My son was a sacred hero . Is he going to save the world ?
-Feelings of pride and concern welled up inside me .
This was indeed concerning the whole world . It was an appropriate step to lie about my son's attributes. It would have been really tough handling the approaches of nobles if the news got out .
My throat was dry and I was confused on what to say . The news was so shocking . What am I gonna do now ? Will I sacrifice my own son's life and make him give up on his freedom of choice ?
Should I force him to do this ?-
"Your Grace !your Grace ! Your Grace ?"
I was snapped out of my train of thought by the priest.
"Yeah , please continue."
"So as I was saying that young master has been blessed by the gods , I would like to suggest that we start his training as soon as possible"
"I agree with you . His training should be started soon"
Although I was saying this , I still was reluctant to do this . Which father would like their son to suffer ?
But as a Duke and a resident of this world I had a duty to do .
"But before that we need to take the hero's consent that whether he wants to do his duty or pass on it . It is a one time thing once the hero takes decision , he can't change it"
"Yes , we should proceed further."
Lelouch Pov :
"Why are you such a prick with me huh . Do you have any problem with me ? This engagement was not mine decision to begin with"
I was listening to the complaimts of my so called fiancee after Father left me . I wonder why he lied about my affinities .
"Are you even listening ! Heyy"
" Yeah . Miss Evergreen I am all ears"
"First tell me why do you loathe me so much ?"
"I didn't say that"
"But your behaviour clearly shows that."
I sighed deeply and said , "Miss listen . I did not want to be engaged to anyone . I believe in love marriage . Also I don't want any kind of relationship right now . I want to focus on self improvement . For that I even avoid going to social events . I want to become a warrior . A person who can save everyone ."
Miss Evergreen gave me a look which was not quite befitting for a noble .
"You think you are a shining white knight huh ? But it is clearly not . You are noble , you can't become a warrior . You should give up already"
I stayed silent .
This was a habit of mine . I stopped talking whenever I felt that there is no point in talking now .
My dear fiancee said ,"Even I didn't want this engagement ok . My old man forced me for this . Look political marriages are an integral part of the noble society . You can't just deny it . Atleast pretend that you are happy with me and put a facade . I don't want my fiancee to embarass me , do I ?
I just nodded and went to talk with other noble children .
I stood in the artistically frescoed hall which gave familiar yet a foreign feeling . Many noble children approached me but I only felt friendly with two boys .
They were :
1) Son of Baron Volkswagen , Mark Volkswagen
2) Son of the Royal Knight Christopher Stronoph : Gazeff Stronoff
We had quite an interesting conversation but that's a story for another day .
Timeskip 1 hour.
After greeting everyone and thanking the nobles , everybody left .
I sat on a chair near the dining table .
I said to myself , "It feels oddly eerie once everyone left huh . This hall was so full of noise before"
"Lelouch!!"
A sharp voice resounded in the hall . I got startled by it . It was father . His face was oddly serious and he had something different about him .
"Come with me"
I nodded hurriedly and followed him to the same room we went before to test my magic .
There stood the white bearded mysterious old man - The priest .
He looked at me and a smile spread across his wrinkled face .
He said , "Welcome, Young Hero"
Me :
*Shocked :(
3rd Person Pov
A surprised Lelouch stood before the nonchalant Priest . The priest just nodded to himself and said ,
"As I said young master , you are a hero now . You are a sacred hero"
Lelouch's surprise continued to become larger . His knees became weak and he landed on his butt .
Keith came from behind him and sighed ,
"Priest sama didn't hurry too much to tell him . You should have taken it slow ."
"We aren't playing games here Duke . The world is literally going to be in shambles and you are saying not to be fast paced. "
Keith gulped . This was the first time the priest directly called him by his position .The seriousness of the matter began to dawn upon him .
"Now young master , I know that you are a hero . You surely know about story of sacred heroes right . This kingdom itself was founded by a hero afterall ."
Lelouch said, "I know th..
"So as you know it lets do your test once again but this time it will be different"
Axelion Santor , the chad priest cut off the speech of Lelouch in middle as he said that .
Lelouch was irritated by such a sudden 180⁰ change in attitude of priest . ( Where did his gracefulness go . Did he leave his brain somewhere I wonder)
Lelouch walked toward the orb and placed his hands on it .
The priest chanted ,
"Di viam huic hero monstrant"
The orb shined thunderously , the lights in the room went off . The only light in the room was the orb which shone a red light .The eyes of the priest widened . The orb shone once again and it was as if life was sucked out of it .
It was colourless. The only thing it had was a white pearl in tthe center with multiple black rings revolving around it .
The flabbergasted Priest looked at Lelouch . He smiled and showed toothy grin.
"Congratulations Duke . Your son is a true prodigy . He is a hero amongst heroes . See ? His hero signia ! The thing in the orb ? This was possessed by healer hero . The founder of this kingdom . Your son will create history haahhahaaha ."
The priest chanted again , "Ostende viam"
This time the orb didn't shine instead sable black colored text came on it .
"100 pushups , 100 situps , 100 squats , 10km run"
"So young master we should start your training and make you a fine hero"
"Wait a moment , anybody didn't even ask about my opinion"
"This is a great opportunity young master . You are getting the honour to save this world . What is a greater good deed than this ?
Lelouch became awkward by Priest's this manner of speech .
He awkwardly looked towards his father . But Keith avoided his gaze . .
Lelouch said , "Yes , I will do it . I was planning to be a warrior anyways."
Surprise surfaced on face of Priest and Keith but they soon recovered from the shock .
"So you will be admitted to the 'Royal academy of Magic' for training in magic and you will also follow this daily schedule along with your regular studies"
"Yes!!"
The priest smiled and Keith was left anxious and scared .
Lelouch's inner mind -(I wanted to become a warrior but this is better . But isn't this training too much . I am scared .)
