Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

"Faith!"

An old man dressed in priests' robes came shouting.

"Father Harvey."

A young boy greeted the man. The boy had piercing golden eyes, yet he had plain brown hair. Despite having beautiful eyes, he had normal features. From his hair and to his height, all of it was normal. The boy was donned in white robes with golden linings on the sleeves.

The boy named Faith bowed and respectfully greeted the priest.

"It is time."

"Yes, Father."

The boy walked alongside the priest. Looking back, he glanced towards the pile of hey inside the horse stables. There, another boy covered in scars and dirt lay unconscious. A trace of worry passed Faith's face. He muttered under his breath.

"May Z'oi have mercy."

It was a normal school day. I woke up, as usual, brushed my teeth, and took a shower. Well, maybe it was a little bit different from the usual. Normally I would reheat the dinner that I had yesterday, but thanks to a certain jerk who ate most of my food, I have to settle for toasted bread. While waiting for the bread to toast, I went to water the potted plant near the window... Well to be more accurate, it was a withered cactus on top of a pile of dirt... I never knew cacti could die from lack of water. The guy at the plant shop said it could last at least a year... They must have scammed me! (nope)

"Oh well... I guess I'll have to throw this out once I get home..."

I put the toast in my mouth then stepped out of the door. I was two steps away when I heard a resounding crash behind me. Startled, I looked behind me and saw a familiar pot on the ground behind me, only this time, it was broken and in a hundred pieces. The withered cactus seemed like it was staring at me as if it wanted to take revenge.

"Motherf-!!!"

I have to clean this up after I get home! Sigh, this is the last time I take care of something... They never work out. Like the time I got a goldfish. That time my cat ran away. Sigh-

I took my bike to school. While on the way, I narrowly avoided deadly accidents such as air conditioners falling from the sky, a rack of knives being thrown out the window, and almost crashing my bike into an open electric box. Jesus Christ.

There were also stranger things than that. I came across three good-looking foreigners, a guy, and two girls. The guy had blue hair and green eyes, it didn't seem like he was using eyes contacts or hair dye, it all seemed natural. As for the two big busted babes, they were out of this world.

Sigh, it seems that marriage between three people is legal in other countries, and damn! They were even twin sisters. Two-timing slags and scums should all die!!!

The blue-haired foreigner glanced at me, perhaps sensing my thoughts.

Heheheh... I was kidding, please spare me.

I pedaled faster, passing the trio. Phew~

I finally reach school, and just in the nick of time. The middle-aged uncle in charge of mowing the grass greeted me at the gate, it seemed it was time for the grass to be cut.

I walk past the uncle and heard a revving behind me. Most likely from the grass cutter he used, anyways it had nothing to do with me so-

Boom!

I heard something explode, my danger senses kicked and I turned around, only to meet a broken motor blade cutting through the air to greet my face.

"Shi-"

Before I could finish swearing, I felt something hit me. The sound of metal piercing flesh rang through my ears, blood splattered across my uniform. Screams from passing school girls echoed throughout the school, a body went thud and hit the ground. It wasn't mine.

A student who had dyed blonde hair and wore a messy uniform lay on the ground, a hideous-looking piece of metal sticking out in his abdomen, blood flooding out in what seemed to be like gallons.

Without thinking I immediately went to kneel, lift his shirt, and grab a handkerchief that I usually carry in my pocket then immediately began to press on the wound, not too strong as might cause more damage. The white cotton began to rapidly soak in crimson. I screamed at the top of my lungs.

"Call an ambulance!"

My shout woke the students from their daze as they immediately began to take out their phones. Luckily the uncle from earlier had already called the ambulance, the ambulance would probably get here within 5 minutes. Sadly this hasn't been the first time they were called (this year).

I recognized the student as one of my classmates. He came to freeload dinner off of me yesterday. Daniel was a well-known troublemaker at our school. Dyed hair, thuggish attitude, and his coarse way of speaking, I even caught him smoking the other day.

Despite the unexpected reunion, I couldn't relax, since he was still horribly bleeding. Heck, I haven't even checked whether or not he was still conscious.

"Talk to me.", I spoke in a steady yet commanding voice.

I "gently" slapped the guy's face, while having my other hand firmly pressed on the wound. I heard a grunt and a swear.

"So you're awake, good. Just stay awake for three more minutes."

"Did ya have to f****** slap me!?"

"Calm down, getting too angry would increase your blood pressure.", I said with a straight face.

"Well, you try gettin' stabbed and slapped all in the same minute."

"Technically it's been a few."

Daniel glared at me like I was dead meat.

"Oops."

I accidentally applied a bit more pressure on the wound, leading him to curse me more. Anyways, it was enough messing around.

"Are you okay? Do you feel like dying yet?"

"Of course not! What, you want me dead or somethin'?"

"No, it's just that my hand's getting a little tired."

"Then switch it for the one ya used to slap me. You just f****** jinxed me!"

"Jinxes? No such thing."

Right?...
