No one prepared her for what was happening in front of her.
She stared at the people sitting in front of her, curious. But when her eyes went to Sheryl, she glared. Their eyes met, and instead of Sheryl glaring back, she shrugged, as if she didn't give a shit if Gal ate her with her eyes.
Sheryl seemed to forget the burning and hurtful words Gal told her yesterday. On the other hand, Gal seemed to remember everything. Earlier on, when she walked into Kate's house, she was ready to apologize to Sheryl.
But after getting Sheryl and Jordan making pancakes, making jokes to each other as if they were son and mother, the apology disappeared from her mind. Even greeting them was hard, she choked on the simple hi. She wanted to scream at Sheryl and ask her to leave.
But how could she when the smile on her brother's face brightened the room?
