The wolf growled when Sheryl's hand almost touched its head. "Come on." She groaned and stood up straight. "What is wrong if I touch its head?" Sheryl murmured.
She hadn't broken the eye contact, she didn't want to take any chances. They stared at each other for a few minutes, "what does it want?" Sheryl wondered. She then saw something shifting in the wolf's eyes.
It was the exact thing she used to see whenever she was with Alpha Mia on their evening run, and whenever she saw it, she knew it was Alpha Mia's call for help or if they needed to stop and rest or talk.
"Like mother, like daughter. Right?" Sheryl asked her wolf.
"I am not so sure. I can't agree or disagree. By now I am not sure about anything, Sheryl." The wolf replied.
