Chapter 52 - Timepiece

Zero was suddenly awoken to the sound of gun shots. Without even thinking about it Zero jumped to his feet, two of his fingers on each hand down. Zero rapidly looked around before hearing the gun shot once more, only now with a clear head. 'Did the three come back? Window, what time is it?'

-Notice-

Unable to answer question. Please ask a different question.

Zero figured so that would be the answer, so he simply checked his fingers, finding they were all completely fine. With a sigh, he moved toward the door and lifted the bar before opening it and stepping through. As Zero had figured, there was still light shining down the flight of stairs leading to the room. Zero was about to take a step forward when he suddenly received a window.

-Notice-

A Sponsor would like to send you a message. Would you like to accept the message?

(Yes) (No)

Zero looked at the window for a moment before asking the window a question. 'Window, can Sponsors see my window's?'

-Notice-

Sponsors are only able to watch the Host. A Host's Windows are private and only they or someone they allow are able to see it.

Zero nodded before mentally clicking yes on the message.

-Notice-

(Kill the three and receive a reward.)

Zero read the message before scoffing and motioning his hand as if he was slapping the window away before speaking. "A REWARD? I will not do something, for you to simply shaft me with a horrible reward for doing so." Zero scoffed once more before continuing his walk up the stairs. When he reached the first floor, he looked around. When he didn't see any new creatures, he made his way for the stairs to the second floor.

Once he was on the second floor, he slowed his fast half jog to that of an alert walk. Zero encountered the first creature as he made his way towards a clothing store. Zero locked eyes with a skinless dog. Without stopping his walk forward, Zero willed a Seeker Beam to fire from his left pinky. The dog lunged to the side, only for the beam to follow before impaling it through the head and killing it instantly.

'The good news about that message was that it somewhat confirmed the shots were from the three, and that all of them are still alive. The fact that they are back confuses me however.' Zero was confused as the personality of the girl named Linda wouldn't allow them to come back unless she was either persuaded or something drew her here itself. Zero was briefly pulled towards the notion that they came back and were pillaging his stash of bags, in which case he would gladly kill them even without the promised reward.

Zero moved into the clothing store before once again piling all of the available bags and cases into a single pile near the entrance of the door. "Wish I new what time it currently was." Zero mumbled it to himself as an experiment, and suppressed the grin that threatened to appear on his face as a window asking if he would accept a gift appeared Infront of him. Zero, having already given his thoughts on what they should expect from him if they gave him gifts, accepted.

Item-

Description-Although it is not dice, a gift for amusing me.

Before Zero could reach in the Window and grab the item, a Window suddenly appeared.

-Notice-

The Sponsor has paid for the item to have the option of being hidden from all onlooking Sponsors for <336> hours. Would you like to apply the option to the item?

(Yes) (No)

Zero clicked yes before reaching into the Window and grabbed onto a Token before pulling it out. Zero instantly willed it to be used, to which the Token showed brightly before disappearing, a weight in Zero's hand instead. Zero looked down to find an old-timey timepiece. The item had no cover and was a gold color with two little knobs on the top that were usually used to spin the arms in the watch. As Zero looked at where the time was supposed to be shown, he noticed it had multiple different layers as if the inside of the watch had a large space in it. As Zero focused on the hands, the layers suddenly floated out of the timepiece before forming different-sized clocks ticking away Infront of him. Zero was astounded by the visual image he was seeing, although he was a bit confused. 'Where do I find the time of right now.'

Zero nearly threw the device as all of the clocks floating started rapidly spinning before the single one in the middle spun slower and slower before settling in on the time '3:54'. Each of the clocks around the middle one spun down before landing on the exact same time, there seconds arm all syncing together. Zero watched the timer for a moment before the 3D display slowly condensed and shrunk before the single middle clock, which was now a lot smaller was ticking away over that large endless looking area.

Thinking of a good idea, Zero looked up at the sky, as he figured that was were they were viewing him from. "Thank you! This will be helpful." Zero smirked before placing the timepiece into his pocket and continuing to pile the bags together. Once he was done with that, he started his process of filling each of the bags with something different and something he figured others would like. He also made sure to fill it with any food and water he found as he had found that once something was in the Local Shop, it wouldn't expire.

'Window, can only those that reached 30 thousand souls see my shop?'

-Notice-

Local Shops become viewable once a Host reaches <15000> souls. The Host is able to pay <10000> souls for their shop to become accessible to those with <2500> souls or more for a limited time.

'How long is that limited time?'

-Notice-

If the Host pays the required souls, there Local Shop will be accessible to those with <2500> souls or more for <12> hours.
