Chapter 40 - Summoned

Zero was pulled from his thoughts as he heard the usual ping of a window appearing. He opened his eyes to find the window asking if he would like to see the list of Sponsors. Zero clicked yes before viewing the significantly larger list of Sponsors.

Zero was astounded by the shear number of them once more, before he saw one with an interesting name, as well as a different announcement. 'The Time Keeper... Did they hear my lie to the god of rest and relaxation? Window, can Sponsors hear my thoughts? Can you hear my thoughts for that matter?'

-Notice-

Host's thoughts can only be peered at by an ability and any words the Host wills to be heard by the Window. Any thought besides those the Host wishes the Window to hear will not be heard.'

-Notice-

Sponsors are unable to hear the Hosts thoughts, as well as see there Windows. Sponsors are only able to watch a Host in present time. Once a Sponsor has been watching a Host for over an hour, they are able to express interest in as many Hosts as they would like. The Sponsor will then offer to sponsor a Host. The Sponsor must first put up <100,000> souls to send the offer to sponsor a Host. If the Host accepts the Sponsor, the <100,000> souls will be payed to the Window and there for the System to create a private Window between the Host and Sponsor.

Zero was surprised by the wordy explanation, but was still grateful that it gave him a real answer. 'Window, is the System itself able to sponsor a Host?' Three blank Windows appeared before they all disappeared and anther Window appeared.

-Notice-

Question answer not found.

Zero was confused about the Window that appeared, as his question seemed to wig out the System behind the Windows. 'Very well, then tell me this. Can a Sponsor do anything besides watch a Host before making them there sponsored Host?'

-Notice-

A Sponsor is able to send both items as well as souls to an unsponsored Host, however there is a large tax on all items given to the Host.

Zero sighed, deciding to get some sleep for right now.

Zero was suddenly awoken, his eyes shooting up to find Tyler standing above him. "Zero, you have been summoned." Without giving him any more information, Tyler walked away from Zero's view. Zero stood from the chair he had fallen asleep in, finding it was dark, the only thing providing light was the moon in the sky, and candles laid throughout the hallway. Zero stepped into the hallway, finding Tyler had taken a right towards the 'throne room'. Without delay, Zero started walking towards the room as well, catching up to Tyler as he was purposely walking slow.

Tyler turned into the 'Throne room' to find there was now a table in the middle of the room and multiple people sitting at it, while the girl still sat on the throne. Zero wondered how they got such a large table into the room, however he threw the thought away as everyone turned to look at him. "Everyone, this is Zero, his ability is a whip." around half of the people sitting at the table nodded to him, the other half did their own versions of a scoff without even giving him a second glance.

There was only one that spoke the groups thoughts. "What good is a weapon in the hands of a child, and a whip? Is that even considered an ability?" The table was once again split by people seconding the mans words, while the other half stayed silent. Zero inspected each on of the ones that scoffed at him. The first similarity he noticed was that they were all middle age and older. There was five men, and two women against him.

Zero shifted his focus to the ones that had stayed quite, finding there was four woman and three men. The ages of these seven were diverse, having an old lady, as well as an extremally young looking man. Zero looked at the leader, finding she was looking back at him, more specifically to his side. Zero looked down, finding his finger was rotating once more. Zero looked back up at the women, his face completely blank. He watched the women smirk before speaking.

"This boy has demonstrated not only the ability to kill, but the resolve to do so. We will be having a vote to decide if he will be joining us." The small frail looking soul reader walked out of the same door as before before looking at Zero. Zero watched in amusement as his face turned visibly white before he fell backwards. Everyone's eyes turned to look at the one that had just made the noise.

To the boys credit, he quickly got to his feet while recomposing himself before leaning into the women's ear. The women's eyes widened before she turned and thanked the boy before he quickly ran back into the door which he had come from. The women looked at Zero for a long moment, and Zero was sure she was trying to decide if she should kill him or not. Zero slightly lifted his hands in an inviting way.

The girl once more smiled before she visibly relaxed and spoke to the rest of the people in the room. "We shall now vote, whether to take him in, or to take his souls."
