Zero didn't care whether they would allow him to join. If they didn't, he would simply try to leave and kill them if he couldn't. "Does anyone have any questions before we vote?" The table was quite, before one of the ones that scoffed spoke. "Show us your whip. We will decide your value after we see your ability." Zero didn't look at the leader before speaking. "If an ability is what makes us valuable, do you even have worth?"
The room went silent for a moment, before the older man brought one of his hands up, holding it at face level with the palm facing Zero. Zero watched as gold dust came flowing out of his hand before it formed a large golden quarter circle barrier between the entire table and Zero. Zero lifted his eye brow, reaching out and finding it was solid. Before Zero could speak again, the barrier suddenly came sliding towards him. Zero put both his hands up, shielding himself just as the barrier slammed into him.
Zero was sent flying backwards until he slammed into something, the something breaking his momentum completely. Zero fell to the ground with a groan before quickly pushing himself to his feet. 'Window, assess damage.'

Zero groaned as he got up, his entire back in pain. Zero looked forward to find the old man smirking at him while the barrier was back to its original position. 'Window, would my ability be able to break through that barrier?'

Zero snorted at the Windows blatant hint to bribe the information out of it. 'Window, you may take 1500 souls as an offering. on a different note, if you know any information about the barrier, please share.

Zero nodded as he started talking. "I didn't mean to bruise your fragile ego. However I will make it up to you. How about a wager?" The old man was visibly shaking with barely contained anger, however he managed to keep it in check. "And what is this wager you purpose?" "You hold a high position in this group of yours, do you not?" The old man smirked before proudly nodding. "Good. I'll fight you for the position."
The sea of whispers and chatter instantly died as he spoke the last word. Every set of eyes focused in on the old man, and he knew it. Zero smirked as he knew the old man couldn't protest, as his ego wouldn't allow him to. "I will not fight a child for my position." Everyone started to quietly mutter before the old man spoke again. "However! Someone has to assess your abilities power, so how about a different wager. We will put our collected souls as collateral."
Zero shook his head. "You could only have 100 souls for all I know. I'm not interested in your shabby amount of souls." There was a laugh from several of the people in the room, however Zero noticed the old man didn't get angry at them, meaning they knew something he did not. The old man looked at the leader and spoke. "If this is alright with our leader, I humbly request Jacob to come out and announce the number of souls we possess."
The women smiled and nodded, the small frail looking man walking out as she spoke. "I would like to remind you Henry, you are currently wagering with my souls, not your own. I will allow this wager to go through simply for the others to see the boys potential." Zero noticed Henry's jaw tighten slightly before he nodded. The girl leaned in and whispered something to Jacob before he nodded and stepped forward.
"Henry has 9,800 souls, Zero has 13,341 souls." Zero watched with a smile as everyone sitting at the table showed shocked expressions. Zero turned to see Henry had a mixture of greed and anger on his face. 'Window, is there something you can do for a wager between Hosts?'
-Notice-

'Window, tell me about the perks of creating a wager.'

"Child, a Window will not help you." Zero smirked at Henry, who looked like he had already won. "Lets make some money, shall we?" Henry's bravado faltered at what he said and Zero spoke to the Window. 'Window, create an official wager.'

Zero watched as 10 of the people in the room looked up at the air, Henry included. What interested Zero the most was that the leader did not look into the air, meaning she wasn't a Host. Zero memorized which ones had looked up before looking up himself.
