Samvel Hywel Hanoever Blois was born on a rather cold and stormy morning. The kingdom's third queen had immense trouble during childbirth and there was fear around the palace that the royal child would be stillborn.
Except Sam's mother was exceptionally bright. Using her knowledge of herbs, she instructed her handmaidens on how to concoct a medicine that would help her. As such, the third Solomon prince was able to safely enter the world.
"You were quite tiny as a newborn." Her long and slender fingers pinched his plump rounded cheeks. "Oh my, how big you've grown already!" She'd say as a way of encouragement to her picky four-year-old.
"But do you know how you'll grow even faster?" A mischievous smile spread onto her rosy lips but Sam was much too young at the time to register that his mother was lying to him. "If you eat all the vegetables on your plate."
