"A warm bath and a bed, you know you are surprisingly very simple to please."
She scoffed.
"Simple?" Shaking her head, she corrected him. "There's nothing simple about a bath and a bed." She dipped her hand into the bathtub, her back to the prince. "I would have to wait weeks during my excursions for a proper bath and a place to sleep." The bathwater did not need to be warm, and almost always wasn't, for Kiera to feel thankful. Her excursions sometimes lasted months so she would treasure the times they were fortunate enough to stay at an inn.
"What do you think? Is the water warm enough for you?" Sam asked, bringing the General back into the present.
"Yes," she took her hand out of the water, "this is just fine for me."
She turned around and raised one of her eyebrows at him as he stood by the doorway, perfectly content to stay where he was.
