Chapter 7 - let's go complete a quest

Why did I sleep!? I was perfectly fine for a while!

All I did was just put my head down and keep an eye on the clock while waiting for the missions to restart!

I didn't think I would sleep quickly with something so boring!

The moment I got stuck in this game because of an event is enough, but now, acting like it's so natural to be stuck inside a game and even sleeping in a dangerous place without knowing anything about what happened. How stupid am I!?

I don't know if that was just the boredom I always feel when I don't do anything or if it was because of that earlier [sleepy] debuff that's still getting to me.

Aaahh but how stupid of me to do something like that... How stupid... How stupid. Katsuo scratched his head as he whispered to himself.

And then I heard a little cough coming from behind me. At the same moment I put my hand on my sword that was beside my waist and turned towards the cough.

And when Katsuo quickly turned around, he saw the girl who was behind the counter now in front of him with a serious expression on her face.

"Stop yelling, you're making too much noise" That's what she said as she crossed her arms

When I realized it was the npc from before I took my hands off my sword and quickly apologized to her

"I'm sorry" (Katsuo)

"Let this never happen again, you are an adventurer, act like one"

"Okay, my bad" (Katsuo)

And then she turned and started down the stairs, leaving me alone on the second floor. And in a few seconds after that I realized something

"Did an npc lecture me?" (Katsuo)

Maybe tiredness is still bothering me but I'm sure that npc has something different, it was as if she had actions and emotions of her own.

That npc always stood behind the counter to score quests, Now I see she left her post and went to lecture me and then left for the first floor!?

Don't tell me... We're in an Isekai!?

The dream of almost any otaku is to be able to go to an Isekai and make their harem grand and be the main overpower character that defeats any enemy easily.

A face of joy was made on Katsuo. And in a few seconds his face turned blue and turned to sadness

"Haha... The more I learn, the more confused this game gets, Isekai? What nonsense, there's no way to go from just one game to another world..."

With my complete sadness I looked in the corner of my screen at the clock.

It was almost 15:00 PM, only 7 minutes left for the missions to update

And so with that Katsuo started down the stairs. Arriving on the first floor Katsuo sat at an empty table and in a few seconds a woman dressed as a waitress came to his table.

"Would you like to say what you want today?"

"Roast meat and a glass of water please..."(Katsuo)

"Okay."

And then the waitress left the table and went to the back.

Well... I need to rethink about this possibility that I discovered about npcs

The npcs have emotions and actions of their own or maybe scripted for that, apparently they also already know that we the players have the [Inventory] and so that means they are already used to it

If this wasn't a game I would be wondering if there were other "players" in the past but as this is a game that came out recently the only option would be an scripting in their system that make our abilities like inventory normal for them

That is, we are in a realm that maybe doesn't even know of our existence, if they find out, they will try to do what they can to get us to be on their side as a way of showing that the realm is the most powerful. So maybe the other kingdoms will join this one as a way of keeping the peace.

But there will also be other kingdoms that will want players too, so for sure there will be kingdoms that will come together just to get players and then become the strongest

In the end, it seems that our existence can lead to complete destruction in pursuit of power if we have something they will never get, like maybe our class blessing.

Class Blessing is a very powerful skill that can only be activated by the player's voice command after breathing a sentence, as I am a paladin my main blessing is Light.

I can only have 3 class blessings, and at the moment I only have two, the [Force] and [Light]

And then the waitress came back to my table with my order. After paying her the order I started to eat

If we have something they'll never get, then there's a possibility that we'll be able to move to the next town more easily, which is a good thing for me.

I hope the class blessing is perhaps the key to getting into the next city, so far no one has ever gotten there

A few minutes passed after that and I had already finished eating. And then a girl appeared in front of the stairs catching the attention of everyone on the first floor.

The girl was calling everyone's attention with a pronouncement " Guys! let's reset the quests, please, those who are going to do some Quest, go to the second floor!"

With that the players started to climb the stairs and little by little the first floor was emptying. I also got up and went up to the second floor after a few players

Arriving on the second floor I noticed that it had few players, it was even a little surprising that it only had that of paladin, cleric and mage class players

I was hoping there would be a lot of players wanting to do some guild quest | The Path of Light | but it seems that was just my intuition

Probably those who didn't come are too worried about this maybe new life in a game while me and the other players are enjoying the situation and trying to adapt as quickly as possible to it

As there were few players and too many Quests, it wouldn't matter much to me if I just sat around until there were no more players there.

And while I was waiting for the players to get their Quests, I wondered where was that party I had seen in front of the guild earlier

"maybe they went to another guild when they realized that there is more to gain from the rewards." It's what I thought could have happened

Well, whatever it is, I wish that thief good luck. This game isn't going to be that easy for someone with a class like that.

And then I waited a while until the last player walked away from the board with their Quest in hand towards the counter, I got up and went to the board to get my Quest too.

Getting to the front of the board I started looking at every Quest that was there. Dragons, Goblins, Slimes and Wolves were the ones that appeared the most on the board

The Dragons would quickly kill me with their mighty fire so I discarded that option

Goblins are small but they walk in groups, in addition to their intelligence, walking alone to fight Goblins is suicide so I discarded this Quest

Slimes are little slimes that are bouncing around, however, their mortality is an extreme risk, their cute appearance can melt even your sword just touching it so I discarded this option

The only Quest left for me now was the Wolves, the other Quests that involved stronger monsters like Giants and Orcs would be too dangerous and difficult for me

And so I took the Wolf Quest that was closest to this town and went to the counter

"Excuse me, I wanted to bookmark this Quest please"(Katsuo)

In front of me was the same npc who gave me a lecture earlier for yelling. It was kind of embarrassing talking to her when I remember this

"Of course! Your guild adventurer ID badge | The Path of Light | please"

For a second I barely understood what she meant by the ID badge, until I realized she was talking about an ID card I had in my inventory. I opened my inventory and clicked on the badge, soon it magically appeared in my hand

"Here it is" (Katsuo)

I handed her the badge and after a little while looking at it, she marked the sheet with a small press.

Author: Sorry, I couldn't find the original name of that shit. Imagine something that when pressed against a paper leaves a writing mark or something.

"It's all in the defaults, here's your badge, good luck"

She handed back my badge along with the Quest sheet and then I went downstairs and out of the guild.

A while walking the streets, Katsuo walked through the city towards her exit to follow where the Quest marked

Just a sigh was what I took after some thought

Somehow me and many other players ended up in a game, and eventually we got stuck in it. The reason behind this I still don't know.

Npcs now seem to have feelings, actions and emotions as if they are out of their norm, so I could take this as a form of a full-scale summon but the chance of that happening would be pretty low.

No... As I didn't think of that, this might even be possible, before all this happened I remember that screen saying that it would be teleporting players to the designated area, so the reason it's a summon wouldn't be that stupid.

But what matters most now is why we are here. I think it could probably be a Demon King who could be resurrected in the future or anything else that is considered a threat.

Unfortunately I couldn't take that strong debuff with the start of the event so I don't know anything about what happened afterwards, maybe I should ask that girl for more information...

And so I continued to walk around town
