In a big city, several players who were wearing clothes in the style of an MMORPG game, were gathered for what seemed to be an event in the middle of a square in the capital of beginner city

Was it countless people who were participating, dozens? Hundreds? No... Surely there were at least 1,000 more players in that square.

A little behind all that crowd, a spearman and a paladin were sitting on a bench waiting for the event to start.

"Hey, how long will it take for this event to start?"

"About 9 minutes now, didn't you know you can see the time in the corner of your screen?"

"Oh it's true, I had forgotten about that detail"

"Why are we here around so many people? I wanted to do quests instead of being here, you know?"

"Don't worry, it will help our team a lot so you can stop dying so easily"

The paladin gave a thumbs up as he spoke.

"So easily!?"

The spearman showed a surprised face at what the paladin said

far away from the square, Katsuo was running around the capital as he tried to get to where the event was going to take place.

"Damn, why did I decide to do one more Quest thinking this would be quick?!"

Why? Why do I never listen to myself?! Aahhh I'm going to have trouble leveling up if I don't make it to this event!

I need to be at least there so I can get an equipment according to my character category, the developers said that players have won a rare equipment that is only obtainable in the next city

Currently I am as a paladin knight category, a light magic user capable of providing magical attacks capable of stun or even used to help allies, I remember that on a website, a player of this game said that this was the meta character about the game

If I can't make it on time, I'll miss my biggest opportunity in the world or, who knows, my biggest chance to be famous!

"Ahhhhh what a bag!"

I opened my player status and equipped a stamina potion

"This is the last potion I have, it has to be worth it"

And so I took the stamina potion and continued to run as fast as I could until I reached the middle of the city where the event was going to take place.

June 25, 12:38 AM (8 minutes later)

After running almost the entire city, I managed to get to where the event was going to take place.

"Arf...arf... I'm tired, this city is too big..."

With my head down and my hands on my knees that were slightly bent, I try to take a little rest to prepare myself for the event.

As much as this was an open world VR game, the developers gave a lot of detail to the realism, so it wouldn't be surprising that fatigue could get in the way of doing any mission at times like this.

You even gain debuffs like attack speed and strength reduced by over 30% for a short time if you have stamina below 15%, which is what I'm going through now

But for me that shouldn't be a problem now, as I managed to get to the town square to participate in the event, so I can guarantee that I'll get my rare gear from the next town today

After a few seconds of being down, my status debuffs went away and I stopped feeling tired.

When I stopped feeling tired, I lifted my head a little to see what was happening.

"How many people..."

Huge amount of players in front of me, there were probably over 1,000 of them there waiting for the event to start

I don't know why I had such a surprised face. Lots of people gathered in front of me, small groups of people around, somehow I knew there would be a lot of people at this event today

Looks like this game exploded into success anyway huh?

I take a quick look out of the corner of my eye and see that the event is only a few seconds away from starting.

"Well, let's go"

I ran to the other players and waited for the event to start

With just a few seconds left for the event to start, a small blue screen appeared in front of my eyes.

"Uh?"

I tried to see what was written

The message was written [starting event: teleporting players to designated area]

Oh? I thought I would still have to sign up or something but it looks like I will not have to.

But suddenly... Everything had gone dark and I lost consciousness.
