Chapter 3 - Chapter 2: Evil Skills

Valence doesn't search after her champion immediately.

She admires one second the details of the drawing, zoom a few times to see some of the intricate details better and then switch her attention beneath  the battelfield to look at the game panel.

The first quest didn't change from the previous update.Choosing a good champion is one of the most important choice.

A choice she always took her time for in this game.

So for now she prefers to know what actually changed with the update.

She begin to look at her stats who are mainly composed by " Devotion" and "Power".

"Devotion" is the ressource that you gain with believers. When the race you choose pray for you, when they give you offering when they build altars, etc… And depending on how much they believe in you you gain "Devotion".

This is a currency that allow you in the shop game to buy" Miracle" "ability"  "artefact" and " Potions".

"Power" is your endurance. Everytime that you look at a place from one of your altars or far from your champions it consumn some of your endurance. It's the same thing when you use your abilities.

Basically when your " Power" reach 0 you can't do anything apart from looking at the developping story of the  game. It depends of your level for how much time you have your " Power" fully regenerated.

Valence looks at the small number next to devotion and power and already feel defeated.

500 Devotion

500 Power

When Devotion reach a certain threshold you level up and leveling up bring more power.

When she heard about the update she thought that they will give more ressources for the start because the game suffered quite a lot of criticism for being too difficult but apparently she thought wrong.

She put her phone on her lap with a sigh.

It will be an hard game indeed.

Her cold fingers reach for her coffee as she thinks about the careful step she need to take to win.

I will need my dose of caffeine to stay awake.

The beverage is already cold and bitter but she doesn't care. Gulping down she think that she is quite lucky that a bad day like today is followed by a day off.

She can stay up all night and play with this thought she click on the icon of the shop sort of an altar with two pillars supporting a triangle  while drinking.

For now she is still  level one so she can only access the first page of the shop.

The first page is for potions and ticket to the artefacts wheel.

The artefacts are the object to give to your champion. weapon that the hero can summon any time. Once linked with them it can't be replaced by another.

Every ticket for the wheel cost 50 devotion.

Pleased she smile to no one. They actually lowered the previous price.

Putting down the cup of coffee her attention deviate to  the potions and their price. The potion like the artefact are only mean to be used for the champion.

3 kind were available. Hp potion, mana potion, and stamina potion. The HP potion in red has a price of 10 devotion. The mana in purple 15. And the stamina in blue 5.

Ok no promos there.

She  leaves the shop and look this time at the tree skill.

Its like the name . It really is a tree. The skills are deblocked by level. it start by the root and end at the top of the tree. By level you can only choose one skill at the tip of 6 roots. the skill are divided in two categories : evil and good.

Valence has always been perplexed in front of this side of the game. She plays as a god who will exterminate everything but her chosen race.

Even if at first her people was persecuted by other in the end she still annihilate everyone else be innocent or childs or unknown bystander.

so by nature isn't she evil?

By principle she always take the evil skills. It doesn't however prevent her to look at the " good" one by curiosity. After all every world in this game has their own unique set of skills

Evil:

-Evil eyes: for 5 minutes give to the mortal chosen a frightening  aura paralysing the others around. Time limit: cool off of one hour. Restriction: only affect the mortal of level 15 and under.

- Dream invader: for 5 minutes you can invade a dream in the form of dark mist to give a message to your chosen mortal. Time limit: cool off of one day. Restriction: cost 30 Power for every try.

Reading this Valence grimaces. So expensive in stamina.

Illness: give a malus ( -10 Hp) to one or two mortal of your choice for 5 hours. Time limit: Cool off to two day. No restriction.

Good:

White Protection: Give to your champion a bonus of +10% of defense for 2 minutes. No restriction. Cool off: one day.

-Message: Invade the mind of your champion for 3 minutes to issue a warning or a message. Time limit cool off two days. No restrictions.

-Benediction: your champiom is bestowed with a benediction. This benediction allow him to resist mallus for one hour. Time limit: one day. Restriction: mallus given by being over 20 level still affect them.

Pondering Valence bury herself in her bed.

White protection is a good skill to have in the later stage of the game  but not at the start as the the stats are too low for 10% to make a difference.

Benediction is quite specific and if the game didn't change much not many creatures below 20 levels can give mallus to other. Quite useless then.Illness can be ignored as -10hp is only useful for the start fo the game.

Evil eyes however is a better skill to have but what interest her is Message and Dream invader.

Message doesn't cost her Power but take more time to cool off. Futhermore there is a key word. it can only used on champion. While dream invader doesn't specify so clearly.

Mortal, not only her hero but other.

it will be useful for gaining new followers.

After thinking about it she chooses " Dream invader".

It is the first time she read about this skill. She is quite curious to see how it work.

Under her cover, basking in the warm she ditch the tree skill and switch back to the battlefield landscape. it is time to choose a champion.
