(Orville POV)
"You're the one in charge of the cake. Why did you let that happen?" I said as I continuously reprimand my wife for her irresponsible behavior which led to the cake being destroyed.
"Orville, are you serious right now? Their staff dropped it, not me."
"Yeah but I keep telling you to instruct the delivery guy to bring the cake here in the hotel as early as possible. What the hell happened? You made him deliver it at the last minute of Sofia's birthday party when all the guests are arriving already. They got flustered and the cake got destroyed, well done. How are we going to solve this? I don't want Sofia's birthday to be incomplete."
"I don't too." Eloise rebutted.
"Excuse me, Orville." Selina then entered the scene, wearing a dark velvet gown with long sleeves and it looks flattering to her slim figure. Her hair was swiped back so she can probably look clean and presentable for the audience later. I was wondering why she can walk so fast because usually, women wearing gowns are very slow and graceful, especially when they carry their train or the excessive fabric of the dress. Then I realized she has a slit which makes it easier for her legs to strut and have wider strides.
"Yes cuz?"
"Maybe we can do something about the cake?"
"How?" I asked, kind of hopeless at this point due to the task being inevitably impossible. I mean, where on earth would we get a four tiered cake? We don't have a magic wand or anything.
"We have our new intern and he's probably one of the best workers we've ever had. He is very familiar with making cakes and pastries. He's good with his time management. Before the event starts, I would bet a good money that he can have it finished." She said and I can see the conviction in her voice. It's enough to calm me down for now.
"Well then, let's make it happen."
"Sure, I'll just get the kitchen ready. In the meantime, my assistant will be the one to supervise for a while and check if the guests have any complaints regarding anything."
"Thanks, Selina. We owe you one." Eloise said.
"No problem, I'll get to work now."

(Zane POV)
"Alright, the four tiers of cake are done. Before we frost it, the layers need to cool first. This sponge cake is so thick, I think it would be best to put them in the blast chiller for a very few seconds to speed up the cooling process." I ordered as if I were the boss.
Yes, delegation and communication is important in the culinary world. I should have the voice of a leader. Otherwise, people will not have faith in me. Execution is also very crucial. I just hope this pays off or else, I would look like a total fool in their eyes.
It's a pandemonium right now. There are chefs trying to carve intricate fondant decorations. There are ones scrambling to pour the icing in the piping bag. There are chefs carefully lifting a tray of cakes inside the blast chiller. Chaos is the only thing I can think of.
"Zane, these are good." Gardenia said.
"Alright, let's frost it. Double time." I said as I threw the right amount of frosting before spreading it with my spatula and rotating it on the cake stand. I can see some chefs near me, following behind with their frosting and some helping them by rotating the cake stand. This is teamwork at its best.
As we finished and managed to stack them altogether, Gardenia, my new friend in the kitchen, hurried with a huge bowl of pink glaze.
"Is the consistency okay for you?"
"Perfect. Let's go." I said. With that, she poured the glaze gently over the stacked cakes which made it look very mesmerizing. It made it look shinier and more enchanting that I started getting jealous of whoever the birthday girl is.
"That's good. Now, let's get on with the fondants and cake toppers, people." Gardenia announced. Suddenly, all I see is a harmonious working group. All I see is a brigade of chefs elaborately inserting the fondants and carefully doing some finishing touches. The disarray that I saw earlier was washed away with camaraderie and I couldn't be more proud of what the outcome looks like.
"Does it look fairy tale enough?" I asked Gardenia.
"Oh, you have no idea!"
"I hope the birthday girl likes it."
