Chapter 118 - First Stage

As Draco reached out towards the faint invisible pressure above him, he could feel something intangible with his inner psyche.

Draco tried to identify more features of the pressure, but he was unable to grasp what it truly was.

As he continued to feel the pressure, its form became more clear.

His inner psyche felt heavy whenever the pressure touched it, and Draco prodded around it like a blind person trying to feel for an object's shape.

The pressure was constantly emitted from above him in the form of a wave, and in a way it reminded Draco of the ocean.

'Is this the moon's gravitational pull?' Draco wondered.

Draco decided to bring his inner psyche closer to the wave. However, before he knew it his inner psyche was sucked into the wave.

It felt like Draco was a bottle caught inside of a storm, and he floundered as he tried to stabilize his inner psyche.

Draco felt like he had been entirely covered by the moon's intense pressure, and he tried to escape from it with all of his might.

Suddenly, a bright blue light began to shine from within the gravitational waves.

Draco's inner psyche seemingly evolved from this fierce struggle, and it transformed from a formless blob into a miniature version of himself.

This mini version of Draco frantically paddled and swam as it tried to escape the waves, and after a long few seconds it eventually burst its head from the surface of the intangible sea.

His inner psyche then flew out of the waves, heading back towards Draco's body as it retreated back into his chest.

Once his inner psyche returned, Draco opened his eyes and began to pant heavily. It was as if he was just drowning and finally got a fresh breath of air.

'Holy sh*t! Was that the moon's gravity I was feeling? It was so intense.' Draco thought to himself, adrenaline coursing through his veins.

Harry's voice then sounded off in his head.

'Indeed. It seems like you have managed to identify the moon's gravitational pull.' said the automaton.

Draco heaved a sigh of relief when he heard this.

'Finally! It took me four damn days.' he thought.

'That is a very short amount of time to achieve the first stage of the Moon Manipulation technique. My records indicate that the average time for completion of this stage is nearly four months.' Harry said.

This was news to Draco, he couldn't imagine having to spend four months just to do that. It mattered little to him though, and he was just ready to begin the second stage.

'Harry, how do I start training the second stage of the technique?" Draco asked.

'The second stage is monumentally harder than the first stage.'

Harry continued, 'Identifying the moon's gravitational pull had the purpose of opening your awareness. You must now be able to identify the gravitational pull of Earth's celestial beings without entering a meditative state.'

This already sounded more difficult to Draco, 'Celestial beings? Does this mean the sun as well?' he asked.

Harry responded in the affirmative, 'Indeed. The sun has a much stronger gravitational pull, but its gravitational waves are intense and deadly. That was the purpose of using the moon first. A good analogy is to think about it like training wheels. Since the moon has much gentler gravitational waves, you have to use it first so you can understand the fundamentals of how to sense gravity.'

Now this made more sense, 'So now that I know how to identify gravitational waves, I have to use the same concept to feel gravity while I'm not meditating.' Draco realized.

'Correct. My records indicate that mastering the second stage consists of being able to pull out your inner psyche without meditation, and then using that inner psyche to sense gravity while your main body is still aware.'

This sounded more and more complicated the longer Harry went on, but Draco was determined to start his efforts.

Draco stood up from his position and took a deep breath, trying to calm his mind as much as possible without meditating.

After taking several deep breaths, Draco tried to look within himself and attempt to find his inner psyche. He imagined his blood vessels and heartbeat as he tried to visually create an image of his circulatory system in his mind.

However, even after doing this he still couldn't find his inner psyche anywhere.

'It's much harder to find it when I'm not meditating. Is it even possible?' Draco wondered.

For a few hours Draco tried to tune his senses and find something, or anything of that matter.

His efforts were in vain though. Regardless of how hard he tried, Draco was unable to find his inner psyche.

Draco started to grow frustrated, and he inwardly cursed, 'You damn inner psyche! Just come out already!'

As Draco got angry his blood pressure spiked, and this caused his very blood to begin to heat up.

This heated blood flowed through his body and surrounded his inner psyche. Although Draco couldn't feel his inner psyche, the psyche was able to understand Draco's intentions through his blood.

Draco was demanding that his inner psyche come out, and it eventually obeyed his summons.

Draco felt his abdomen heat up with his inner psyche's energy, and he watched with wide eyes as it slowly floated out from his torso to reveal itself.

His inner psyche floated into the air, revealing its form that looked remarkably similar to Draco's own body.

'Is this me?' Draco wondered as he looked at his inner psyche.

Remarkably, when Draco asked this question, his inner psyche nodded its head!

This shocked Draco to his core, and he stepped back in surprise.

'You can understand me?' he asked.

His inner core nodded its head once again, confirming Draco's suspicions.

Draco decided to ask his inner psyche another question, "Are you able to sense the moon's gravitational waves for me?"

Unfortunately, when Draco asked this question his psyche just tilted his head to the side in confusion. It was clearly unable to comprehend what Draco was asking.

Draco wanted to try something else, and he attempted to reach out and connect with his inner psyche.

As of right now he felt entirely detached from it, and he was no longer able to sense his surroundings with it.

Draco didn't know this, but his inner psyche had evolved following its baptism within the moon's gravitational waves.

His inner psyche had somehow developed consciousness, and it had morphed its form to match Draco's original body.

As Draco tried to reconnect with his inner psyche, he could feel his consciousness start to get dizzy.

Soon, Draco lost track of where he was. He closed his eyes and shook his head to push away the dizziness.

However, when he reopened them, he saw that he was staring right at his main body!

Draco floated backwards in surprise, and when he looked down he saw that his form had become translucent and see-through.

'What the f*ck? Did my consciousness somehow switch over to my inner psyche?' he wondered.

The feeling was strange, for Draco was literally having an out of body experience.

More interestingly, Draco could once again feel the moon's gravitational waves.

The gravitational waves buffeted Draco's form, and as they did Draco was able to gain a much deeper understanding of them.

Previously, Draco was only able to view the waves while in a meditative state. While he was doing that his inner psyche was driven by his subconscious mind, this meant that he was unable to fully comprehend the intricacies of the gravitational waves.

It was almost like Draco was half asleep.

Now though, Draco's body was awake. This meant that his inner psyche was now being controlled by his conscious mind. Draco had complete control over his body, and as such he was able to fully understand everything he was seeing and feeling.

'The moon's gravity is formless, but it is ever present on our bodies. The only reason you can't feel it normally is probably because we have gotten used to the subtle pressure it emits since we were born.' he realized, soaking in the pressure released by the moon.

Draco had hit the nail on the head, and his mind was finally opening up to a true understanding of what this gravity really was.

As Draco was lost in thought, the sun began rising above him.

The subtle pressure from the moon then slowly began to turn fierce and deadly.

The moon's gravitational waves were soothing compared to the intense gravity of the sun. The sun's waves pounded down on Draco's inner psyche, and it felt like he was being crushed by a molten hot boulder.

Draco gasped as his inner psyche was violently sucked back into his body. He then opened his eyes to see that he was now standing in his original form.

'The sun's gravitational pull is ridiculous! I have no problem sensing it, but it is simply painful for my inner psyche to endure.'

More interestingly, Draco still felt like he was able to sense the sun's gravity.

'Wait a minute.. My mind is no longer inside of my inner psyche, but I can still sense the sun's gravitational pull!' Draco thought, shocked.

The strong pressure emitted from the sun was something Draco had been feeling all of his life, but he had somehow been blind to it.

Now that he had experienced the sensations while inside of his inner psyche, this understanding remained even when he was back in his main body.

'I can't believe it only took me a day to discover this.' Draco thought with a laugh.
