Chapter 7 - The 18th's Ruination

Darkness, agony, anguish, all of these thoughts tear their way through my mind, my body refuses to obey me as I attempt to get up. I look around trying to see where Sayuna, Omnisce, and Kamito are, but it is too dark to see, I look up and I see the night sky, at this moment I realize that the building has been destroyed.

After about three minutes of struggle, my body finally decides to respond, and within moments I am standing on my feet. I take a step but suddenly I feel an excruciating pain rocket through my right leg and I collapse to one knee. Unable to effectively move without pain I decide to see what is wrong with my right leg, but when I roll up my pants leg I nearly vomit. Blood, lots of it, and the bone is sticking out, my leg is shattered.

"Holy Shit—" I curse, gaping at my leg, "This isn't good, this fucking hurts like hell!" Accepting the fact I can't walk I decide to attempt to bandage my leg the best I can with the limited experience I have. When I finish bandaging my leg I try once again to stand up although this time I put most of my weight on my left leg instead of my right. Then I pick up some sturdy and long object to use as a crutch and I use the rubble around me to blindly navigate my way out of the ruined building.

When I make it out of the destroyed building, I limp through the ruined alley and I try to find someone who can help me. All around me is chaos, buildings fade in and out as if they are switching between realities, people run screaming, and one by one they start vanishing from existence. Suddenly I feel a dark and sinister presence behind me.

"Huh, how surprisingly odd, I killed you over three centuries ago, yet here you are," a dark and malicious voice states from behind me, "It would be a pain to have to kill a child once again, though under the current circumstances I may have to resort to such barbaric methods." I hear the scrape of a sword being drawn from a scabbard and I turn around to see 'him'.

He is tall and wicked, his slick black hair combed down the back of his head, his red and silver eyes shine in the dark moonlight, and his crooked smile rips all hope out of my already demoralized heart. His sword shines in the night like a black hole tearing apart the sky.

Suddenly, with a flick of his wrist, his sword makes contact with my throat, and the world goes spinning as if I was suddenly spun in a circle, and within moments darkness, and then, in a blink, I see myself in front of the vile man again. Although now my leg isn't shattered anymore.

"How curious, I just severed your head, yet here you stand perfectly fine," he rubs his chin in a curious manner, and then with a twitch in his hand my instincts take over, and I jump into the air and unfurl my wings, narrowly escaping to grasp of the razor-sharp blade.

"Ah, so the little bird can fly, can she?" He says maliciously, he twirls his sword with finesse and skill, and thing in a dark flash it changes from a sword into a spear. "Guess I will have to just adapt to the circumstances, what a shameful sight. Death is supposed to be eternal, yet all you do is defy everything. Mortal creatures born not with wings shouldn't fly with them. Your very existence is unsightly, it aggravates me, and makes me want to tear those wings right out of your back." He growls at me and takes a few swift stabs at me with his spear, but I easily evade his strike by ascending higher into the sky.

Realizing the fact that he is unable to strike me he surrenders and shouts a few curses towards me that fail the reach my ears. Then he turns abruptly and heads deep into the fading metropolis.

After he is long gone, I land and start to head in the opposite direction, intending to get as far away from him as physically possible. As I retreat from the grasps of the demonic man I run into an oddly designed wall. Suddenly the wall moves and reveals it's 'true' form. A larger than life creature that seems to be automated instead of alive. Yeah, I am pretty sure it's a mythical creature. The automated being suddenly starts to speak.

"I am Ninja, and name is Caruto," he speaks in a robotic tone, "I regretfully have to say this, but you shalt not pass!" And he approaches me, right arm raised high, and with a hiss of steam and the clanks of steel, Caruto's right iron fist starts to transform in a golfclub, and with a swift draw back, he swings the club forward, shattering the sound barrier creating a shockwave that seems to, not only slow down time, but freezes me in place, and as the club slowly reaches me all I can to is gape at it hopeless in terms of survival.

"Fore!" Caruto shouts after the club strikes me, shattering every bone in my body sending me flying through the air, and within moments I can feel my body splinter as I smash into the side of a building, and off in the distance I can hear Caruto shout, "Hole in One!" And everything is followed by immence darkness.

I open my eyes to a beautiful blue sky. How odd, I was just launched over three thousand feet through the air, am I in heaven? I think to myself. Suddenly I feel a presence behind me, although this one seems to be a more familiar and calm presence, and then I hear the voice of a familiar boy.

"Hey sis, I knew you would be here sooner or later, although I didn't expect you to just fall out of the sky like a shooting star." Says my supposed twin brother, and he grabs my hand and helps me to my feet, "Let's head back to my home, there we can properly catch up." And I slowly follow him to his 'home' wherever that may be.
