Chapter 37 - Sign of trouble? (1)

The orientation ended after two hours of non-stop babbling by the club's president, but the disgusting stares at me didn't stop even after the meeting had ended.

Am I that hated? Let's not dwell on the specifics.

All of this occurred as a result of her. I wouldn't have been embarrassed if I had been caught doing it, but I was blamed for something I didn't do, so it was humiliating. She was the one who slept, yet I was held responsible. Anyway, let's get started.

But first,

"Hey, you, get up. The orientation has ended. You go back to your room or wherever you want to continue what you are doing. If you move, I will leave. " This girl is still sleeping soundly beside me.

"Huh? Is it already over? "Huaaaam."

This girl? Tsk.

She started stretching her body.

"If you move, I will leave immediately."

She saw she was blocking my path.

"Huh? Ok." She moved right away.

I quickly ran from there the moment she moved.

"Jess, what's the matter with her?" Ssh. "

Anyway, I've got a lot of work ahead of me.

****

After spending the rest of the day working out and training, it became Saturday before I noticed.

Today there is an orientation for the traveling club.

[Announcement from a traveling club:]

As a part of orientation, there will be a short trip to Arcelia. So everyone plans accordingly.

===

Hmm.

Arcelia, also known as' Alter of the Sky,' is the human domain's capital and largest metropolis. All of the Union's prominent leaders are in present.

Not bad for the first trip.

After packing the things I needed, I stuffed my sword into my dimensional storage.

and I started to make my way towards the meeting place.

Hmm, not bad. A lot of people are present here. I didn't expect this many people to join the traveling club.

Huh?

Suddenly, my back started to shiver.

Many of the main characters may be found in the club. Except for John Collins, Thomas, Ivy, Andrea, and Trina were all present. We won't find him in these clubs since he doesn't engage with people who aren't up to his standards.

Even though they looked utterly unaware of my presence, being around them made me feel uneasy.

Suddenly, someone, I wanted to desperately try to avoid spotted me.

"Tsk." She immediately turned away with a disgusted look on her face.

By now, you might have guessed who it might be.

"Yes, that's right. It is Trina Mason. '

I just don't understand what she's got against me. Is it something like that, an enmity we had in the previous life that has passed on to this life like that?

A couple of months ago, I would have dismissed such an idea as ridiculous and ignored it. But, after all of this perplexity, clarification, and awareness, I can't dismiss this idea as silly.

Who knows, maybe we were adversaries in a former life and that animosity has manifested itself in this one.

I'm putting it away.

Surely I did not upset her in any way. We just had one conversation, and it was a one-sided command. That's it. I'm not sure what she has against me.

Is it because of what happened then? Sigh.

Who knows, maybe.

Understanding a girl's mentality, especially one like Trina Mason's, is a difficult endeavor. It's preferable not to think about it.

Let her think anything she likes about me; it doesn't worry me in the least; I have no problem with her as long as it doesn't directly effect me.

The club president arrived as I was gathering my thoughts.

"Hello there, everyone. My name is Liam James, and I'd want to introduce myself. I'm the traveling club's president. It's great to finally meet you."

He said hello to everyone.

He's nothing out of the ordinary. His height is average, and he is not as attractive as the rest of the group. He has a compassionate look on his face. He's OK. There's no need to go crazy over him, yet some girls already have a glow in their eyes when they look at him.

Well, I'm the last person who should be discussing anything like this.

He went on.

"I couldn't believe it when I saw so many club application papers, but seeing this many people has made me so pleased. Who would have guessed that such amazing cadets would join our club? Anyway, it's wonderful to have you here."

Hmm. He had a way with words. He's an excellent orator.

Liam James had a brief look around the club.

"Unlike other clubs, I will not waste time on orientation because it would be uninteresting for me as well. So let's wrap this up immediately."

"There is no need to go into detail because you all know what it is about. So I'll keep it brief."

"First, let me give you a brief overview of the traveling club."

He began to speak with a smile on his face.

"Depending on the timetable and duration of the vacation, we will take a trip once or twice a month. And the primary goal of the club is to relieve the stress that has collected in the meanwhile."

"It is critical to have strong mental health in order to achieve good growth. So, every now and again, a shift is needed to maintain good mental health. That is what our club will concentrate on."

While he was speaking, everyone began to nod.

"The main goal of this club is for you to have fun and rest your mind."

He went on.

"And there is one rule that cannot be broken in this club. That means, there will be NO TRAINING during the trip."

After he stated that, the audience erupted in applause and shouts.

And everyone started staring at Thomas, because everyone knows he is a training freak. He maintained an awkward smile on his face. He may be skilled at training, but he is not skilled at these tasks.

"And the rest is not needed at this moment, we'll discuss it at a later date."

He continued, after clearing his throat,

"As part of your club orientation, we will visit Arcelia. I'm guessing everyone came prepared."

Everyone nodded in agreement.

"Each tour will have a different theme. We'll treat today as a free excursion because it's for orientation. There is also no requirement for anyone to submit any reports."

The audience is erupting in applause. We don't often acquire something for free, therefore we should make the most of it when we do.

"Before we leave, we will split into groups of two. As a result, everyone remains with their partners."

He went on,

"To be fair, we shall choose the partner by drawing a lot. This will make you more aware of the other club members. So, are you all set?"

He had his way with words, which was sometimes flattering. Maybe that's why, despite his good appearance, he attracts a lot of female attention.

What about drawing lots? Hmm. It's a game of chance. So I no longer have to be concerned since I am the luckiest person on the planet.

This is fine with me as long as I don't get into any problems.

"Let's begin with... hmm? Why don't you start, Andrea?" Andrea was chosen by the club president to draw the first lot.

"Ok." Andrea approached the table to select a draw.

Andrea drew the lot with the following name:

"David Foster"

Huh?

My name came first?

The entire gathering of boys shifted their gaze to me. Their expressions show resignation, rage, and jealousy.

This is the natural reaction of those around you if you are picked up by a beautiful lady.

'Hey, she chose me.' It does not work the other way around. You folks have ruined your luck.'

I simply smirked at them.

Their rage became stronger by the minute.

It's hilarious, haha.

The drawing of lots was completed after some time, and the members grouped in pairs were ready to move.

"Ok guys, let's start moving." The president led the group.

****

After that, we reached the railway station. I thought they would take us through a portal instead of on a train. Maybe they want to cut down on the budget for the trip.

Maybe, who knows?

It usually takes two hours to reach the capital, Arcelia.

It seems like a very good place to start my exploration. In the novel, it described a city that would look as if God were residing there. It may be exaggerated, but I can only comment after I see it.

"Ok, everyone is with their partners, right?"

"" Yes, sir ""

"Good. You will sit with your partners to get to know each other."

I turned around to check Andrea's reaction.

How would she react if I asked her to sit next to me? She never seemed to react to anything.

Sigh.

She's cute and didn't seem to mind that I'd be sitting next to her.

"All right, gentlemen, get going."

Then, just as I was about to board the train, my watch began to vibrate.

'Christopher? Why is he calling at this hour? 'I had previously told him I was going on a trip.'

Is there anything significant that happened?

I picked up the phone.

I could tell Christopher was in a rush as soon as I answered the phone.

"Boss, I have very bad news for you. You need to be careful when you go to the capital, or else you may even lose your life. "

"What?"
