"I warned you, didn't I?"
Sigh.
I expected something like this to happen, but not in my wildest dreams I imagined Liam James would be the one behind it. I never expected that the one person who appeared to be very sweet and friendly would be a part of the Void.
This again reiterates that you never trust anyone. Mostly, if someone appears to be a good person, you should be wary of them.
If you blindly trust them, then you will be in their position.
I looked at Andrea Lewis. She looked pathetic.
With all the blood and fatigue accumulated on her face, she is unrecognizable.
Well, that is expected when you fight someone who is out of your league.
I didn't expect her to win, but to think that she was defeated without any trouble. He is powerful.
Basically, I don't know what people like Andrea are thinking.
When you have such a powerful background, you should utilize it. But they are hesitant about using their own influence. They think it's taboo to use their parents' influence and money.
'Fucking morons'
Did you know now? Where did your pride leave you? Lying there pathetically, waiting for something miraculous to happen. I hate these kinds of people.
If you have power and influence, you should make full use of it.
If I was in her position, I would have got myself powerful bodyguards who wouldn't even let a fly come towards me.
Sigh.
"Well, let's think about that later."
"Now shall we complete the task at hand?"
"It's you?"
Releasing Andrea, Liam James stood up and looked at me. There seems to be some kind of confusion in his eyes.
'Well, that is expected. I just came back out of nowhere and disturbed him when he was having a romantic moment, or should I say a lustful one? Whatever it is,'
I jumped from the building and landed in front of them.
"Rank 1983, David Foster"
"Yup, that's me."
There is some kind of surprise look on his face, like 'Why the hell did this moron come back?' Something like that.
Even though he had this surprised look on his face, I noticed his relaxed attitude towards me.
Judging by his relaxed attitude, he doesn't see me as a threat that he needs to be wary about.
That's kind of expected because he just defeated Andrea Lewis, who is ranked among the top ten in Horizon, and was easily defeated by him. Why would a lower-ranked person pose any threat to him?
I'm not someone who ranked high or has made a name for myself, so it's kind of expected.
"I wondered who had come. It's just you."
"I need to thank you for saving my time in finding you as you yourself came to me. But..."
He let out a terrifying amount of pressure. Judging from the pressure he released, he was at least D-Rank.
No wonder Andrea lost to him so easily. It's really striking the difference between their ranks.
"You disturbed me when I was having fun. For this, the punishment is no less than death. "
I could feel his murderous aura coming from him.
But fortunately for me, this pressure was not weighing down on me as much as I expected it would. I can see the fruits of my training coming in handy.
But this pressure is nothing compared to the pressure that was exerted on me by some really powerful people. One is the Grandmaster and the other is God.
Only petty people with weak mentalities would fall for these kinds of petty tricks. But these won't work on me.
Do you know who I'm? I'm a friend of God. Literally friend of God you sucker. These tricks won't work on me.
Good try, though.
"But let me give you a chance. For some reason, I'm in a good mood.
Kill yourself and get done with it. It would be better to kill yourself than be killed by me. Kwhahaha.. "
Well, he is hell-bent on looking down on me, so I may as well capitalize on it.
You see, one of the biggest advantages of keeping a low profile was that no one knew what you were truly capable of.
All I needed to do was land a clean hit on him and he would be done for.
Even though the gap between F rank and D rank is enormous, I have a pretty good shot if I have planned a sneak attack on him.
I wish I could have just made a sneak attack on him. But I want to try the skill that the grandmaster gave me.
I have practiced the remaining skills during my practice sections. This is the only skill I haven't tested yet. This is especially true in combat skills.
I have a pawn readily waiting for me to use it, so why not give him a chance? He would be the first person to witness the power.
I'm a guy who is an opportunist. If I'm not confident in dealing with someone, I won't get involved with them.
I'm confident that I can take him down even if I don't use any of my skills. But for that, I need to keep my life on the line. With the skills I presently have, I can take him head-on.
And I have even more up my sleeve.
Before I came here, I messaged Christopher regarding the situation and had him on standby in case things went wrong.
Since I know more or less who the target is, I followed Andrea from a distance so that she wouldn't notice my presence.
As I was following her, slowly, things started to change in my surroundings. Suddenly, the signals started going down as I was moving forward.
Then I saw Liam James starting to approach her. He approached her as if he knew exactly when Andrea would arrive.
That's when I alerted Christoper to contact the [Grimm Reapers].
They were the first organization that I met when I went to the black market. Now they are not some petty organization anymore. They have grown in the ranks in just a few months.
They owe me a favor. Well, sometimes money comes in handy.
I probably knew that there was going to be some kind of dimensional space going to be set up.
Knowing this, I ordered Christopher to inform the [Grimm Reapers] to contact Damian Lewis and inform him that her daughter was in danger.
If they notify the Hero Association, they will try to investigate the informant rather than respond quickly. And it would be quite a headache to deal with them.
As the number one guild in the human domain, they know who the [Grimm Reapers] are. So they would immediately react.
Especially when it's about their guild master's daughter. They know how much he loves his daughter. So they won't take any chances when the information is especially from the [Grimm Reapers].
Even Damian Lewis might come rushing back when he hears the news. It's better to not be seen once he comes. He might just kill me without even questioning what happened.
I need to complete my business quickly and get out of here.
"Why are you still standing there ideally? Go on, kill yourself quickly. I hate to see your face any longer than that. "
This guy... sigh. Everyone grumbles like this when they are about to die anyway.
I smirked at him.
I took out my sword and pointed it at him.
"Do you know what will happen if you look down on people?"
Liam James was looking at me like a fool.
""Assimilation""
I instantly used my skill by moving toward him.
Soon, everything started to change. My mind became calm, my breathing became stable and my heartbeat, which was beating heavily, started to calm down.
It felt like all my emotions were leaving my body. I no longer cared for anyone. Not Liam James nor Andrea Lewis, who is lying there. No one. They all looked insignificant to me.
It felt like I was sitting on some kind of throw or something. It felt as if I was a pinnacle that no one could reach. I feel no fear. only pity. I pity everyone at whom I look down. Even the demons look pitiful in my eyes.
'What is this? What am I experiencing? It felt good.'
'Is this how the grandmaster felt when looking at his opponents? Maybe he was.'
Amazing.
"If you look down on people..."
"DEATH WILL BE BESTOWED UPON YOU!"
"Now then, let's get started."
