ONE MONTH AGO.
Charis stood by the door as she watched her friends doll themselves up in the bathroom. Sighing she looked down at her watch, 10:40 the night was still young. The deafening music dimmed by the closed door but she could tell the party was just beginning to get wild. Thankfully this club had a bar as well, it would be too painful to just sit in that suffocating area, unable to even hear yourself think. Then the thought came to her, she hadn't prayed today shit. Well, that's another twenty-four hours gone no way she would be able to sneak in prayer here.
"Charis, what are you doing over there? Come put on some makeup at least. You don't want to go out looking like that." Her friend Cassandra called out to her and as she raised her hands to decline the remaining two, Annie and Cat began to gesture to her as well. This was her biggest flaw, she gave in too easily. That is why she was in a club on a Saturday night when she had to go to church at 8:30 tomorrow morning.
"I am wearing makeup, don't even lie and say you can't see it." She says but there aren't listening, eventually giving in she walks up to them and picks up a mascara stick, and combs it through her already thick and long lashes. After a touch of rogue to her tanned skin and a swipe of deep pink to match her pink top, she stared at them.
"Satisfied?"
"Yup."
Giggling and running out of the bathroom like a pair of schoolgirls Charis stared at the laughing Cassandra with slight pleasure, who would have thought she was the one bawling her eyes out just a few moments ago? Don't they ever learn? Charis thought. Cassandra has been in so many relationships it was hard to keep count and each time she ended up with a broken heart. Cat had given up on love she just fucks around without any deep connection. Annie the only one with a stable boyfriend of almost seven years cannot get him to pop the question. They were all Christians like her and though they were still unmarried she was the only virgin in the group.
"Perhaps it's time to get new friends?" She wondered out loud as she walked out of the bathroom after them. Her phone buzzed in the pocket of her Jeans and as she looked down to pick it up she bumped into someone else. "Ow!" She exclaimed rubbing her shoulders, looking forward she came in contact with a suited frame. 'He must work out a lot, she thought he is so hard. Wow that is bringing up a lot of dirty thoughts to mind.' Looking upwards at the stranger before her, her breath caught.
He looks like a flower… a very rare, very attractive yet masculine flower. And she was reacting very strongly to this flower. Shutting her eyes to banish the… oh Lord have mercy… dirty thoughts from her mind she quickly apologized and basically ran the other way.
Sebastian startled by the little soft woman pulling him out of his thoughts with her abrupt apology couldn't help the smile that graced his lips. He didn't understand why but he was intrigued and for no particular reason too. Sure enough, she was pretty but he had seen and been with prettier. He couldn't pinpoint the reason but he knew he wanted to see her again. Walking back into the club it was as though luck was on his side, that pink was noticeable all the way from where he stood by the door. Thankfully she didn't head to the club, no matter her bright her pink was it would be impossible to see in the midst of all those people.
But he didn't go to her, rather he went back to his booth where he sat earlier discussing business.
"So as we said earlier the compa-"
"I'll buy it."
"Eh?"
"I said I'll purchase it, send the contract to my office on Monday, and will sort it out," Sebastian affirmed. "If that would be all you may go, I'm already in a bar it would be a shame to leave without enjoying myself a bit." The two men sitting across from him looked at each other in shock before quickly thanking him and making their exit.
"What made you change your mind, you made it pretty clear that you weren't going to purchase the company before you went to the bathroom. Did you get new information in there?" His friend, Timothy asked.
"No, I just got interested in something else and it was the quickest way to make them leave." He said his eyes still on the woman in pink. She was with someone else, another woman, perfect. "What do you think about them?" He gestured to his friend at the two women sitting at the bar.
"I don't know I can't see their faces" his friend stated. "Did you hear a word of what I just said?"
"Nope" he replied bluntly. "They are both pretty, I saw them as I came here from the bathroom," he said "I'm serious" he added noticing his friend's expression.
"Which of them do you have your eye on?" Timothy asked.
"The lady in pink."
