(Sandy's Perspective)
Even in mermaid form, I'm so exhausted that I can barely move. Nàxiē Shēn's wave has ravaged the surface for hours, wiping everything standing above ground—natural or man-made—down to the foundations. Those not killed by the water-driven debris are carried out to sea in the writhing arms of the Rényú.
Leveraging all my water magic, I've managed to avoid capture, but even with the help of the will-o'-the-wisps, I'm far from safe and lost in the middle of a roiling ocean. Another wave of fatigue washes over me and I flounder, tossed about like a plastic bag in a hurricane.
Plus my heart is simply broken over all these lives wasted for Nàxiē Shēn's greed. And pitiable Kallan and Muirgen. Their star-crossed lovers' thing puts my love triangle with Dorian and Sean to shame.
