Casey was panicking so much he could hardly breathe. The police? What did the police want to talk to him about? And why did he have to make himself look so guilty when he hadn't done anything?!
Vera hadn't been there to run interference for him this time. When they interrogated him before about her stalker she had been right there and reassured them that she trusted him. He could have really used that this time but it was a Saturday so she was at work.
What was he supposed to do? He couldn't exactly call them back and apologize for freaking out by saying he had no idea what they were talking about but panicked because he sucked at talking to people.
"Casey," Kane said sharply. "Get a hold of yourself. You didn't do anything."
