Vera chowed down in an excellent mood and chatted happily with Casey in between the appetizers and entrees. She ended up telling him about the progress of the pieces he had seen her buy and he hesitantly asked if he could see since it was right next door when they were done.
Surprised but pleased by the interest, she led him to her workshop. "I already fixed the drawers so I'm in the process of sanding it. After that all I'll have to do is refinish it before putting it up for sale."
"Nice," he said mildly. "How long does the sanding normally take?"
"Oh, hours. I was working on it a bit before I met with you but I still have a long way to go."
"I should leave you to it then. Thanks for dinner. It was delicious."
"Of course! Thanks for coming even though it was short notice. Celebrating isn't nearly as fun alone," Vera said with a smile. "See you around, Casey!"
"Yeah. See you."
