Bryce was in an excellent mood after going home on Valentine's Day. Tessa straightforwardly admitted she cared about him much more than she let on and wanted to keep him around. On top of that, she finally seemed to trust him enough to tell him what was going on with her!
Granted, it was frustrating she refused to tell him while she was having a hard time. Why wait to get emotional support until something was over?
That didn't make sense to him but a lot of things about her didn't. He had never quite managed to get inside her head even after spending so much time with her.
When it came to assessing her moods or figuring what she might say in certain situations because he knew her sense of humor he was able to read her fairly easily but that was all surface level. He couldn't know what she was thinking because she never shared her deepest thoughts with him. Her complaints were few and revolved around school and customers at work. Nothing of true significance.
