Chapter 2 - Voices in my Head

How did Dante come to acquire such a feeling? It was simply because things became way to predictable. It was always the same whenever he did anything. Dante was a smart person so of course he would have found a way to become a rich person but the thing was that since he was smart he knew the way life was supposed to behave. Sometimes it would throw dirt in your face while sometimes it would lift you up. For Dante however it was always the same. He always had a great day no matter what he did, heck he could even go to college in his underwear and even still have a great day not that he had the courage to.

"What is going on with me?", Dante asked himself as he laid on his massive water bed.

He had never felt this way before in his life until recently. Dante knew he was supposed to be grateful for what he had as this just made him the opposite. Though how was he supposed to do that if he always felt as if things were not as they were supposed to be. Now the question was how exactly were things supposed to be?

"OPEN YOUR EYES."

Dante's eyes widened in surprise before he sat upright looking from side to side. He was pretty sure he had heard the voice of a lady just now.

"Laura is that you? Real funny, haha", Dante said with a clear tone of sarcasm.

After this, he laid down once again so that he could continue along with his train of thought.

"YOU HAVE TO SEE."

Freaked out again, Dante stood up heading to the living room only to see Laura sound asleep. He knew she was really asleep due to the fact that whenever she was faking it her left eye lid usually twitched alot. Dante quickly realized she had not covered herself with a blanket again so he proceeded to do the same as the day before. After covering her with a blanket he proceeded to head to his room once again.

"Seriously what is wrong with me today?", Dante muttered to himself as he walked up the stairs.

This was the first time something like this had ever happened. He knew it was most likely because of the feeling he was having. His head may have made up these voices so as to justify what he was thinking at the moment.

Laying down on his bed, Dante began to think once again but this time no strange voice echoed in his head. On noticing this he began to stare down the ceiling until he eventually fell asleep.

The next day, Dante prepared and went to school following the same old routine. He hoped deep within that it would change because it was starting to make him feel sick, however it never did. This day's pattern followed to the next day and the next and the next. That was not all though, the sounds in his head got worse causing him to believe that he was going crazy.

"Dante what's going on with you? It's like you are a totally different person all of a sudden", Laura couldn't help but ask.

Laura had noticed everything that was going on with him from that day to this very moment. He was more distant as he didn't relate with people like before anymore, heck he didn't even sleep so much causing him to have eye bags as a result.

"You have been acting like this for two weeks now. Please talk to me"

"I am just tired that's all. After a good night sleep I will be okay", Dante said in an attempt to dodge the question.

"That's what you told me last time! Why won't you talk to me", Laura said with a hint of desperation in her voice.

Dante didn't speak afterwards which only caused Laura to grit her teeth. He had decided not to say anything because there was no use lying to her. She was Laura, the one person that understood him to the bone, of course she would know if he was lying.

"Please talk to me, please, please, please, please..."

"Okay you want to know why huh!? It's because I think everything and everyone in this world is fake! It's all fake! Even you!", Dante snapped saying words he didn't even intend to say. This was most likely due to the exhaustion from his lack of sleep.

Laura looked at him with an expression that showed she was really hurt by his words mixed with another that showed him she believed he was insane at the moment. Laura sprinted out of the house with tears in her eyes slamming the door as she went out.

"Laura wait, I am sorry", Dante muttered under a low tone.

He had just ruined a perfect relationship all because he was going mad. 'Real mature man, real mature.'

Everything that had happened to him was because of the strange voices in his head. Though it was really foolish to put the blame on something that never existed in the first place.

"OPEN YOUR EYES."

Dante's eyes opened wide in disbelief. It was real, it was actually really. How could he tell? Well it was certainly not because of the dark looking figure in front of him.

"YOU HAVE TO SEE."

"What do you want from me?, you already ruined my life!", Dante shouted at the top of his voice.

"OPEN YOUR EYES. YOU HAVE TO SEE", the figure said coming closer without any attempt to answer his previous question.

Seeing this, Dante decided to run but he was frozen in place. It seemed as if it was really the end for him.

"OPEN YOUR EYES, DANTE", the figure said before tapping his forehead.

To his ought most surprise, the whole environment disintegrated into what seemed to be numbers before living him in a space of emptiness.

"Great! Now I am sure I have really gone insane", Dante said as he looked around the empty space.

All of a sudden he seemed to be dragged at great speed to somewhere else. He couldn't help but wonder where this place was.
