Chapter 69 - A Trapped Lena

Inside the premises of the Institute, a man and woman were walking next to each other attracting glances from everyone around them, as Lena was fairly new many people haven't seen her inside the Institute.

Consequently, the men's in the Institute were delighted to find a new beauty in the Academy. However, knowing that she is a teacher here, they can only just feast their eyes and do nothing else. It was a big disappointment to them, but regardless the more the merrier, who knows if they can get a chance.

Though the thought of this just as quickly disappeared from their brains as it arrived.

"Idiots."

"Stop scaring them." Lena glanced to her left, smiling helplessly.

"I did nothing." I shrugged innocently and retracted my gaze from that group of oglers.

Lena smiled wryly and walked forward. This brother of hers is really hard to handle.

She should have already expected this, to be frank, she should be grateful I didn't fry them up. If it's Lena she would probably do nothing as long as they don't show the intention of harming her physically, although it is good, but that is further going to incite them in the long run and thus in the end they will just get killed by her.

Prevention is better than cure.

Soon, we arrived at the cafeteria. Lena was just giving me a short tour of the main building of the Academy, will have to agree it is pretty big.

"Take this." She passed the extra plate full of food in her hands to my side and sat down next to me.

I smiled at her and nodded.

"Oh well, thanks.... By the way...." Then, I gazed at Lena with a dubious look.

"Are you purposefully increasing the amount of hate I am receiving from them," I said pointing to the people around us, normally she would sit in front of me, but this time as if doing it on purpose, she sat next to me.

Lena said nothing.

But soon, she noticed me and just chuckled slightly. "Hehe, Brother. Didn't you want this? For them to not stare at me? I just made it easy for you.... Don't tell me you are scared of them." She said with a teasing look and resumed eating.

I wrinkled my brows and shook my head lightly. "Fear and me? Haha... What can these kids do to me."

"Oh, sure." Lena just shook her head indifferently, not bothering me at all.

What's with her? Did she not believe me? Well regardless it is good that she seems spirited. I thought it will take her more time to get out of that blast incident. Getting her here was a good decision, she isn't the type to socialize much, so all she need was to get a way of distraction.

But just I thought so, she stopped her hands and glanced at me with an uncertain expression, as if not sure about something.

For now, I avoided her gaze and started eating.

Very soon, Lena also finished her portion.

Since she was not a regular instructor but a librarian, therefore after lunch I followed her to the library.

All along the way she just casually bought up a few topics about her life here and nothing more. Nevertheless, she had already spent a year there so this place shouldn't be new to her, but her manner of speaking was completely different as if she herself arrived here for the first time.

For a few hours I just browsed through some books kept here, normally many of them were not accessible to normal staff but well who cares about breaking some rules. Lena squinted her eyes when she saw that, but as this place was crowded with students, she could do nothing but just glare at me.

After a while, when the hall was slightly vacant she left her seat and came directly to my side, snatching the book in my hand. "Give me this! And don't just pick anything without asking from me, I would get scolded because of you."

"Oh," I laughed, pulling her close to me, "... and who dares to scold you?"

Lena was scared by my sudden action. Her face reddened a bit, as she instantly covered her mouth to suppress her voice... But noticing that the library is almost vacant she just sat there quietly, with her head on my shoulders.

I just glimpsed at her and did nothing else for now. I have the whole night for that, and not to forget I even packed a surprise for her.

Not sure how she will respond to it though, hehe.

After a while when the place was even more empty, Lena finally choose to break the silence.

She spoke with a low voice. "I met Alan a few days ago."

My expression changed, as I turned my head and stared into her sapphire eyes. "And?"

Lena's eyes met mine, she fell quiet, not sure what to say next. After a while, she turned sideways looking outside from the large glass wall, the sunset was clearly visible. This designer of the library sure needs a pay hike, making this structure would not be an easy job. I waited for Lena to speak again, after all, I knew she would face them if she comes to work here. But how she will react to it that was uncertain.

Lena took a deep breath and sighed. ".... Before that I even saw Bryan." After that, she turned back and faced me with a smile, and she did after that surprised me a bit.

She got up and sat directly above me, resting her body completely on me. A sweat scent immediately invaded my nostrils.

"...."

"Leon, You know ... When I first saw him after arriving here, .... he made my blood boil..." Lena's eyes shone with a glint of emotion as she continued.

"I wanted to attack and kill him immediately..."

I put on a surprised look. "Oh, it's surprising then, because I just met that trash a few hours ago. I wonder how he is alive. Was it his Ghost?!"

Lena was amazed at how I met Bryan but shortly she smiled bitterly. "It is because I didn't kill him."

She sighed deeply and spoke. "I thought I wouldn't be able to control myself, even more, when I have the power to kill him immediately. But strange because my anger resided very soon, now I just don't feel like harming them. I-I ... It is... Like their existence doesn't bother me even for a bit."

"Do you think it's strange?" She lifted her head and laughed lightly trying to hide her expression, but it was clear that she was unsure what is going on with her... Shouldn't she use this chance to get revenge for how they treated her and her brother for years? Shouldn't she feel angry?

I looked back, smiled at her, as I rubbed her back slowly, though, inwardly I was trying hard to control my smirk, it is even better than I thought. She has completely dissociated herself from the Quinten Family, I never thought it will be that easy. Initially, I thought the only to completely disassociate her would be with slight manipulation, but surprisingly it happened naturally.

As I was busy celebrating Lena got anxious, I noticed that and quickly removed all the thoughts from my head and said with a serious look. "I don't think there is anything wrong with you. That's already in the past, the faster you will forget it, the better it would be."

"Mm." Lena nodded with a thoughtful look and leaned back on me.

We stayed in the same position for a while, she didn't stop me even when my hands explored her body, but soon, as her eyebrows twitched as she remembered something.

She opened her eyes. "Uh, Brother, what about.... Aunt Terra and our cousin Cain? Shouldn't we be seeing them?"

I creased my brows at her voice. "Have you told them about your identity yet?"

Lena shook her head. "No, I was wanting to ask it from you."

"Then, it's good. Let it be like this"

"Will it be alright? I don't think they mean any harm to us?" She said with a worried voice.

Cain, it is the same boy I met earlier near the Church. He is our cousin, precisely he is the son of our late mother's big sister. Call it fate or something, but her mother is dead too, in an accident which took place before our mother died. Along with her, our uncle and another six-year-old girl died in that accident.

Only he was left alive as he was a newborn and thus was at the home when the accident took place, from that moment Aunt Terra is taking care of him. We have met times when I was younger, he is of the same age as me.

Well, although that girl who was deemed dead in the accident is still alive somehow, that is the same girl named Linda which I met during the bandit's attack. Though, I have no plan of telling about her to Lena or reuniting them and whatsoever.

"Leon?"

"Ah, right. Don't tell her for now. I have some other plans for her. Naturally, I will tell her but only when the time is right."

Lena noticed as my lips curved upwards, she got up and glanced at me with an odd look. "Why do I think, you don't have any good plans for the Aunt? Are you gonna take advantage of the fact that she is still unmarried?"

"!!"

"..."

"Hahaha...." I tried to laugh it off as I scratched my head awkwardly, though I was slightly amazed by her as she caught me off-guard and anyhow I won't be able to hide it from her. "That's exactly as you think. So if she knows about it now, it will just make my work harder." I just laid of my plans bluntly in front of her.

"You...." Lena glared at me with disbelief.

In the end, she just sighed and sat back. Don't know how, but she already had anticipated this, so this wasn't much of a shock to her but that doesn't change the fact that what I was doing is ridiculous.

She rolled her eyes. "Brother, Aren't you getting too Shameless! How can you say that with a straight face?"

I narrowed my eyes at her and smirked. "Oh, it doesn't feel much good coming from the girl, who is behaving indecently in a public place."

"Huh!?" Lena's cheeks flushed in realization. How can she forget she was still in the workplace?! But before she can get up it was already late. As her hands were pinned backside and two black eyes were staring at her.

Another realization hit her, She panicked. "Let go!! Let's change the place."

I grinned evily. "Let go? Shouldn't have you thought of this earlier, don't tell me you were plotting this from the beginning, big sis?" I looked around to make sure nobody is nearby as Lena's body trembled beneath me.

"... The whole library is empty without a single soul nearby us? It can't be a coincidence.... "

Lena fell silent, her breath turned heavy.. It is a coincidence, but how is she supposed to justify her? She can only stare at him with puppy eyes and beg. "Brother, Please...."

Though she didn't realize herself, her ambiguous words were like lighting a matchstick to the trail of gunpowder.

"You..." Her tearful eyes further aroused me, now it's can't be stopped. From next time choose your words carefully, girl.

As my hands were near her clothes I noticed something and immediately halted my movements. "Umm.... Lena, I think there is a problem."

"What?" Lena opened her closed eyes and spoke in terror. Did someone spot them? She instantly looked around but found nothing suspicious.

She put on a confused expression and asked. "What is it."

I sighed and pointed at her neck. "I forget to cast spell on that pendant of yours. You weren't wearing that what you came to my room that night, right?"

Lena blushed slightly remembering her bold move that night before moving her gaze downwards.

She noticed a blue leaf-shaped pendant hanging down her neck. "Hmm.... I think I removed it during the bath."

I facepalmed myself. "Damn! How can I forget that?"

A nervous voices ounded from behind me. "Is it going to be hard?"

"Sigh, it's alright I will cast it now. Not like anyone would have identified you till now from this." I reassured her, as I quickly casted a spell on her pendant, that was her only belonging that can prove her relation to the Quintin family, else there is nothing else.

... Even if someone spotted it on her, I would kill them all.

But just to make sure. "Are you sure, nobody noticed you till now?"

Lena blinked her eyes. "I-I am not sure." Nervousness was apparent on her face.

... How can I ignore this, it is too much to ask from her. She can't even control her powers properly now.

Huh, man. Was it not enough to spoil my mood that one more problem arrived.

I placed my hands on anxious-looking Lena and smiled bitterly. "Someone is looking for you in the corridor, you should probably check out."

And before she could say anything, space distorted in front of us, and a figure appeared out of it.

*BAM*

"Ughhh....."

Precisely, not appeared but fell to the ground horizontally.

"Wtf is happening today!!" Cain immediately got up moaning in pain and noticed two people staring at him, out of while one was laughing.

"Hahaha, that's what you get disturbing me."

Cain's face got red to his ears in anger but he controlled himself. If the person in front of him can teleport him directly here, then he must be many times stronger than him. Hence, he can only swallow his anger as he pulled a chair and sat down in front of them.

Though he didn't forget to make a mental note. [How about asking that Devil to trash this guy for me? Oye Devil!! Are you here??]

Well, of course, he won't get a reply, do this idiot think I would nail myself up. "Oye, Idiot stop making a face and tell me why you are here."

Cain gritted his teeth and frowned. "How can you address a student like this? Don't you have any manners?"

"Yo- "

Lena elbowed me and stepped forward before I can crack this guy. He sure has some arrogance issues, next time I will make sure to give him an even harder task.

She politely asked. "Student Cain do you need anything?"

"Oh, yes!... Teacher Lena, can you get me the book that has information about devils?"

Lena was stunned by his request, she narrowed her eyes at him before apologizing. "Sorry, but it is a restricted book. I can't hand it over to you."

Cain looked at her with a troubled look. "But..."

"Sorry I can't." Lena was adamant in her stance, she sure knows how to do her work.

But from their conversion it was sure, it isn't the first time these two are meeting. Maybe he comes here regularly to read. And as for Lena, knowing Cain was obvious, I would be actually surprised if she hadn't already met Terra once, one way or another.

As they were busy arguing I just silently got to the back, grabbed a book, and threw it away on the table.

*Bam*

The book slammed on the table making a huge noise. It was about Devils or what little, humanity knows about it.

"Take this and get away boy."

Lena put on a difficult expression."Leon??" If it was anyone else who did this, she wouldn't have a problem dealing with it. But how is she supposed to stop him? She is in a dilemma, on one side it is her Brother and on another her duty, but she will choose former anyday over the latter.

I casually waved my hand at her. "Just let him have it, he won't get anything out of it and soon return it by himself."

Cain looked at the old book with sparkling eyes, stuffing it instantly inside his bag.

He looked at the man in front of him gratefully. But it was surprising because, from the moment the old librarian was removed, the rules in the library got pretty strict afterall the new librarian was at the limits of the humans. Already strong enough to defeat many of the teachers here, very few dare to sneak or stole any book like earlier.

"Thank you.... By the way Teacher Lena, he is??"

Lena stepped forward and introduced me having no choice left. "He is my brother, Leon."

Cain nodded with an amazed look. "Oh, thank you, Mr. Leon. I will make sure to return the book as soon as possible." The things aren't bad as he thought, it is just her brother. But thinking about it wasn't she rumored to have a demigod-level sibling??

Cain's back was covered in sweat on the very thought that just now he nearly angered a Demigod. Although, the Headmistress of the Institute is herself is one of the oldest Demigods and can protect him, but would he be alive till then??

He gulped a mouthful of saliva and turned around to escape from this place as soon as possible.

A smile flickered across my face, I stepped forward and hugged Lena surprising both of the people present in the room at the same time.

"Ah, it's impolite of you Lena to not introduce someone properly."

Lena stiffened. Her body trembled a bit but she stayed in her place..

She whispered with a soft voice. "Do you really need to do this?" She actually wouldn't mind it as she has already decided on it, but in front of her younger cousin, it still feels a little awkward, despite him being not aware of this.

I smiled softly at her. "Don't you think, it will be better like this, you can save trouble for the future?."

Lena fell silent. It is indeed a good idea.

As we were busy whispering to each other Cain peeked at us with a complex look. Isn't that position too ambitious, why does he think he shouldn't be here?

I shifted my gaze from Lena to him. "Oye, boy stop staring, she already mine, don't you dare have an idea on her."

"Why would I have idea on He- wait!" Cain wanted to retort back but something else picked up his attention.

Cain's eyes opened wide in disbelief. He shifted his attention to embarrassed-looking Lena. "Teacher, this??"

Lena took a deep breath and nodded, further confirming it, but even so why is he being told this?? Wtf he is supposed to do with this information? Normally in a plot like this, he would get killed soon, right!?

Before he can process it further another voice sounded in the room. "Don't you dare to get a word out about this boy, else you are dead."

On looking forward the person named Leon was glaring at him with a smirk, the moment Cain gaze met his, he got goosebumps all over his body.. The Aura of a Demigod.... It is way too much for him to handle.

"I-I w-will come later!!"

He immediately picked up all his bag and ran back to the hallway, Today must not be the day when he dies... Even if he is gonna die, it will be laying on a swarm of beauties and not on a god dammit library.

All along the way, he wasn't able to figure out, what just happened right now. And why does he feel targeted? First a devil and now a Demigod? Isn't it too unfair for a eighteenth year old.

After he was gone, Lena sighed in relief. Thinking about it she doesn't know how she will face this situation against Aunt Terra.

But she doesn't have the luxury to think that now, as just after a second, all the doors and windows got closed as a barrier was placed inside covering the whole library.

She was trapped and as for who did this?

Who else can it be other than Leon.

"Now, since he is gone, Let's finish what we have started."
