Nefretiri
My exhaustion fades for a moment as I blink at the sight in front of us. I have no idea if what I'm staring at is real or if my exhaustion is so bad I'm hallucinating, but it's breathtaking.
The stone walls were covered in a thick diamond sheet. So it looked like ice on a pond. That wasn't the most impressive part, either. Inside it, tiny flickering lights swam like fish across the gems, changing the color from clear to reds, blues, yellows, and even black.
"Did we do this?" I ask, placing my hand on the closest wall, feeling the subtle hint of magic radiating back at me. It felt like me but mixed in with another energy source, and it was powerful.
"I think you did," Ivan walks up to the place he'd had me pinned the last time we were here, examining it more closely. "The light is brighter here."
He was right. More lights glowed here, and brighter and deeper colors swam away, only to return and find a different direction.
