"Nefretiri?" Benji opened the door, shocked to see me standing behind it. "What are you doing here? I thought you'd be downstairs."
"I've been arguing with clan leaders all morning. I decided we should take a break." I explained, holding Penelope in my arms. She was done with everyone, too. She'd shifted almost a dozen times between Zaya and Anika, nearly biting two leaders when they got too close. "I was hoping to talk to you."
"Of course," he opened the door wide so I could enter. "This is your house. It's not like you need to ask me for permission."
He meant it as a joke, but I didn't take it like that.
